Re: TSS : Roadster Roll Protection

Performance and protection do a full and half cage for the mk3.

It's the same one that Rogue supply.

Worth a call to Patrick at Rogue, his prices are reasonable for the cage.

Re: getting a MK3

How can removing pre cats from exhaust stop oil consumption...? It can't. Pre cats break up due to prolonged running with a misfire or huge amounts of oil passing the rings and being burned. Shame they are such a pita to top up with oil without a funnel or removing the rear brace. Keep topping it u...

Re: mr2 turbo takes out gtr r35

Does he have any on board footage on the youtubes? I'd like to see what is required skill/corner speed for an NA to do a 1.20. I should see him later and I'll ask him to stick some up. Think I got a link to a video at Rockingham on my garage facepoop page.. Castle eaton vehicle services. Jammy git ...

Re: 2ZZ-GE, is it worth?

I would like a 6 speed but rather than f@nny around trying to develop the best box for the job, I think I'll accept the 5 speed and spend on the ECU instead. From what I've read, You really want to keep the Celica (or Corolla) gearing as the ratios are alot better matched to the engine. Re: Fast-road/Track car advice - mk3 2ZZ or mk2 turbo?

My experience shows they are more prone to niggles than a 3SGE n/a in a mk2. The 3SGE I use for racing and test days and I just top up the oil and run it. Never an issue unless you over rev or once every couple of seasons I have had a headgasket go. Whereas the 2zz I have only used on the odd trackd...

Re: Fast-road/Track car advice - mk3 2ZZ or mk2 turbo?

MK3 2ZZ's are great on track, but speaking from personal and long term experience of an n/a mk2 and a 2zz (and 1zz) mk3, the mk2 n/a is hands down more reliable on track and will not give you half the issues a 2zz will.

All in my opinion of course :)

Re: Mk3 TRD VM180 Rebuild - Insurance

I've always insured my previous engine modified cars through either Adrian flux, Henderson Taylor or CCI, you can get agreed value quotes as well which were very reasonable.

Hope that helps

Re: Modified MK3 mr2

I can see a few modded ones on ROC. The turbo is out of my reach so besides a 2ZZ conversion I cant see what I can do to provide any meaningful increases. Ive already got a TTE exhaust and a Unichip remap doesnt seem worth it. Yep, that's about it. Limited bhp increases to the 1zz (150-160 really),...

Re: MR2 MK3 Gearbox Repair or Replace?

Agreed, second hand box will most likely be fine, and at the moment they are not a silly price. There are a few trusted sellers for second hand mk3 parts. Feel free to drop me a pm and I can give you the details of the ones I've had positive dealings with.

Re: Does this Mk3 look ok?

If that is genuine then it is a good price for a late car.

There are a few things to check, but rather than me spending ages typing I would log onto www.mr2roc.org and read the buyers guide, it will save me repeating it all :)

Re: Mk2 or Mk3 for track work?

Looking at the MR2 Championship lap records, there is hardly anything between the Mk3 and Mk2 which is a bit of a surprise as the power/weight ratio is similar for both cars Weight limits for the championship are managed in order to keep the different marks on a similar pace The regs on the mk3 are...

Re: Thinking of taking a shot on one.

No haven't had the pleasure of driving or working on any mr2s tbh. I do love the mk1s and like the mk2s Hopefully you will like it then :) Power wise I am sure you know that as standard they are far from a drag strip car, but track wise they handle nicely and it is a fairly decent chassis. More nim...

Re: Thinking of taking a shot on one.

Not sure if you are new to MR2's or if you have worked on MK1's or MK2's? But I would say the MK3 is easier to work on than a MK2 but not as easy as a MK1. Body panels are all bolt on and easy to swap. Modifications are becoming increasingly plentiful and there a few options for more bhp. Track car ...

I always use www.coriniummotorsport.co.uk for setting up my mk3. I think he did my mk2 once as well. He (Neil) is a motorsport engineer by trade and has done set ups on everything from Radicals and Elise's to E36's. He is based just outside Cirencester so not far from you. If you do call him tell hi...

Hi, I would be interested in the seat if you would be ok for me to organise a courier? All you would need to do is put it in some wrapping?

Thanks
