Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Well done Nick. You've done a great job. :thumleft: BTW, Noble BHP/Tonne figures: M400 - 401 M500 - 471 M600 - 527 Ta Peter, I might fetch her up if the sun comes out again 8) Just goes to show that you don't need a great deal of power to turn these cars into supercar baiters. Remember too, I can a...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Always an excuse  230 beans in one of those things will be pretty spritely though  If yours does make 180bhp and weighs 500kg it'll be in the same power-weight ballpark as these Noble M12 GTO - (321) TVR Tuscan Convertible - (337) Ferrari F430 - (342) Lamborghini Murciélago - (351) Cor...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

It's got me very excited about building my my 230bhp 2.8 BMW engined version. Thank feck mine's got a wider cockpit!! I think we all need to see pics of that!! :D And rides  Don't hold your breath, I've got to build it from scratch pretty much!! I've probably got about 80-90% of the parts, ...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

I've just moved the Westy out of the garage so it's ready for Phil to collect, had to unbolt the seat and slide it back to even get my feet on the pedals!! But I've got to say the engine feels super responsive and sounds really fit!! \:D/ If it hadn't been raining then I think I would've had it out ...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

I really want a go in one of these. Are they as exhilarating in a straight line as they are round roundabouts? They certainly can be. Anything approaching 200bhp in a sub 500kg car is seriously quick!! It's all about acceleration though, not top speed. 90-100mph with no windscreen can be an...

Great work Nick :thumleft: But if you want that beer from Phil you will have to line up those air filters - his attention to detail is second to none :) I will be interested to see the dyno result when its run in. What do you think this re-incarnation and your hard work will show on the rollers now...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

More words! "Hooray" I hear you say :clown: During reassembly of the engine Nick spotted that someone had been a little overzealous with their welding in one of the exhaust header pipes. Possibly as a repair, however apparently it was so thick it was blocking around a third of the pipe! :...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

It's been hard work and it's fought me on several stages along the way. But, I've still enjoyed doing it and am glad I've been able to do it in such a way that Phil should see some serious performance improvement. I would've hated to just slap it back together as it was, a xxxx state. It's very clos...

MR2 V6 'track' car

After much deliberation and a heavy heart we've decided to put our MR2 SW20 V6 up for sale. Here's a little taster of how it looks. It's Rev1 but a late import (2004 IIRC) and a perfect shell, with sills and arches like they left the factory. I'm yet to see a better one. It's been prepared as a trac...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Update? May I Sir? Myself and Phil have formulated a plan to get the best out of this engine without spending a fortune. It's easy to plough £4-5K into making the old Twin Cam really fly. Not an option!! Phils US trip was well timed and saw a nice set of shiny HC pistons 'smuggled' back in h...
