[Mk2] [Turbo] 500BHP engine?
Theoretical question guys - how much (ballpark) would it cost for a 500bhp engine? Based on a good mechanical knowledge to assemble the parts required to achieve this oneself. Starting point would be a good 3SGTE block / crank / rods? / head. We're not talking daily driver reliable / driveable here ...

Post a pic of it and I'm sure folk'll soon tell you. Basically if the inlet mnifold looks like your old one then you've got a Rev1/2 if it doesn't then you've got a Rev3+

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 3S-GE Engine (Yamaha)...
Have you got the engine loom and ecu with the Rev3 engine? That's the easiest way to do the swap with only minor rewiring. Though someone on here has done it with old loom and ECU apparently. You'll deffo need the Ex manifold and down-pipe.

Re: [All] [Generic] FERRARI V6 FOR MK 2
It does seem odd you want an engine in your car that promotes your company but don't even know what engine it is. :-k In his defence he was told it was a 3.2ltr V6 Ferrari lump revving to 9k and pumping out 280bhp. I think most people would be happy to have one of those in the back of the MR2 ...

Re: [All] [Generic] FERRARI V6 FOR MK 2
This is a Lampredi designed V6 from a Fiat 130 coupe, not a Ferrari engine I'm afraid. They came in 2.8 and 3.2 with either 140bhp or a maximum of 165bhp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_130 To get anywhere near the 280bhp you've been quoted you'll be looking for a quad cam V6 from a Ferrari Dino ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Rev1 to Rev3 Engine?
I used the Rev1 fusebox which meant there was a couple of power feeds missing to vital components eg coil. I'm guessing if your using a Rev3 fusebox then this probably isn't the issue, but worth checking the power feed to it any way. We definately had to use a Rev3 igniter (as it had a different con...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Rev1 to Rev3 Engine?
I've done this to our Rev1. You'll need the Rev3 loom, ECU and downpipe. There's a couple of power feeds to move in the fuse box and one wire (for fuel pump) to move on the ECU. I can let you know more if you get that far. It is a worthwhile swap though for the extra top end of the Rev3 lump :thumle...

Re: PPC £999 challenge
Ta fella,
The ST 205 was bought for about £800 with a mashed front and rear corner. Straightened out and MOT'd it scraped under budget. Shame we couldn't run the NOS as I think it'd have done low 13's and beat the GT4

PPC £999 challenge
I was flying the flag for the MR2s yesterday at Santa Pod in the Practical Performance Car £999 challenge in my £250 MR2 G-LTD. Basically, you buy and modify a car for less than £1k then race them up the 1/4mile and over a handling course. Unfortunately, due to a complete failure with my NOS system ...

[Mk2] [NA] Rev3 engine conversion - electrical bizzareness!!
We've had some electrical issues since doing the Rev3 N/A engine conversion into our Rev1. We used the Rev3 ECU and loom and to start with we just got it to the point where the engine ran, but the power steering wasn't working. Also the car was draining its battery very quickly when parked. So I sta...

Supprising what you can do with a bit of washing line to track a car up  thanks for your input Nick. We use 'calibrated' string and axle stands  I do have a posh digital inclinometer that I 'borrow' from work for the camber and a mates just given me an old (but good) set of Dulop tracking...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspension Geometry Rev3
I'm thinking your lazy steering may be caused by your high front caster angle. This will give good stability but slow turn in. We haven't adjusted or measured the caster on ours so assume it to be std (3.0deg?). The front has 2deg neg camber and 0 toe in (yes, straight ahead), the rear has 1.5deg ne...
