Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] HKS SS dump valve
mine didnt come with a bov, i put one on as people scared me into getting one, soon done some decent research and have since removed it for the last 4-5months.... people say it kills turbos, no proof at all. its an utter junk opinion. from my experience, there is an improvement of spool up between ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Japspeed exhaust plus bung fitting and DB readings
just had a quick thort while scanning this thread, If the bungs are 1mm to wide you could try leaving the bungs in the freezer for a good long while, then take the car for a really good run get the tips really hot so they exspand, then try poping the bungs in then, the exspansion and contraction of...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] HKS SS dump valve
it is like a myth word thats spread on the web for something that its not. its not wastegate chatter either. wastegate chatter/flutter is something else. the sound is just the air hitting the blades from the other side.... it is not compressor stall, or surge tho. (the turbo would never "stall...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] HKS SS dump valve
Its just a term most use to decribe the noise when you back off the throttle dude, some say turbo flutter, some say waste gate chatter lol I say compressor surge as in, the compressed air in the intake system is forced out of the intake of the turbo or compressor while it it still tryin to force air...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Garrett Turbos, Tial Wastegates and Stock Manifold
I believe ATS racing will sell you an adaptor block seperately aswell. Looking at there adapters they dont seem to have a vband or stud flange its mentioned on there site "Welding/fabrication required" so looks like it more hastle than it worth and could work out pritty exspensive, compai...

Im a firm believer that the rev3 block is more than decent enough for the job if everything is done correctly, untill mine cracks and then i will go Gen 3 head / 5s-fe block

Re: [All] [Turbo] Full Race
I agree with mark about the cheap wastegates , i always thort they were garbage like most of the cheap ebay stuff. But after speaking to a technical writter for a well known magazine the other day, he exsplained the cheap ebay wastegates have got so much better over the years they are even using the...
