Re: front end lift....?
haha thanks. yes the undertrays will make a difference, probably not that noticable though. Funnily enough you have come to a similar conclusion to me as to how the aerodynamics on the MR2 should be. But having done most of the stuff you have mentioned let me tell you it is far easier said than done...

have you done anything to your air conditioning system? If you have then thats a possible cause. If you havent likely to be the temp switch as said

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Rear Tracking Control Arm Removal
Before you get too drastic, in my experience of removing suspension bolts you can have undone the bolt completely but the threaded part of the bolt seems unable to get through the bush itself. What that feels like is that the bolt turns with the same resistance you expect, possibly getting slightly ...

Re: flames
ive seen footage of my car shooting flames when i changed gear. Pretty standard stuff really. Slam throttle closed, overfuel briefly, unburnt fuel in exhaust absorbs heat, vapourises, and the hot exhaust ignites it with what oxygen is available. or when it gets to the exhaust tip it hits fresh oxyge...

Re: Rev 3 Turbo overheating
Ye i think the key is in the sudden threshold. Using higher RPM means you get faster water flow speeds, thicker boundary layers in the radiator and that blocks it up a little. If your radiator is full of crap then that will seriously restrict the water flow, pressurise your system and send it shooti...

Re: IC fan opperation?
Dont think the intercooler fan has a warning light. If the light looks like a motor with some blades on its left hand side then thats the cooling fan light. its talking about your radiator fans at the front of the car not working correctly. They can be quite complicated to diagnose. First check the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ford Water Cooled Exhaust Manifold
Its exhaust manifold is cast integrally with the cylinder head and is liquid cooled. This helps lower exhaust-gas temperatures, allowing an optimized air-fuel ratio to be maintained over the entire rpm range. The aluminum alloy is on the higher side of cast-aluminum materials quality, to tolerate...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ford Water Cooled Exhaust Manifold
Find me a statement from ford which states that the reason the exhaust manifold is water cooled is to reduce detonation and then i will believe it. Until that point that sounds like b0ll0x to me. Just that evo writer being a numpty. I would suggest the reason they done it is either because the egt i...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help with a gauge
oil pressure is also taken from the stock location, which is on the left front corner of the head, near the dizzy. Check if there is some sort of T piece or extender in that location. as far as i know the sensors are specific to the gauge. btw are you sure the unconnected wires go to the sensor? Cou...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Speedo and turbo gauge not working?
I think the bit with the plug on unbolts so would theoretically be available separately. However you'd be hard pushed to find it and if you did it would cost the earth. Ypu'd probably be better off finding a used one and replacing the whole unit. Before you do that though why not spray some brake cl...

theres a certain irony to racelogic comparing its own and another product to its own product. its not surprising that their own product was more similar to their own product.
