Re: info on abs speed sensor F/R

i did get instuction to check the sensor with a multi meter, but i did that some time ago now and cant remember the result but it seemed ok(ill check it again, and do the same for the rear left at the weekend). so basically, if the other sensors are ok? then connecting the replacement hubs wire to ...

Re: info on abs speed sensor F/R

Bit obvious for this time in the morning, but have you checked any of the sensors in any way? when the fault originally came up after i put the calipers on about a 7months ago, i checked to see what the fault code was, which indicated front right or rear left speed sensor was faulty, then had both ...

hi all.... i have a 1990 rev 1 mr2 turbo, my abs light is on and the error code indicates the front right or rear left sensor is faulty. im guessing its the front right as the light came on after i recon'd the front calipers. i then pulled out the sensor thinking it wouldnt be that expencive to just...

Re: Info on abs speed sensors?

Turbo hubs are bigger than N/A ones (on the rear, fronts will be the same), and as stated, removing ABS sensors is pretty much impossible from the hubs so I doubt you'd be able to retrofit one. Yea i tried with my front right. So im good to swap my front right hub for any mr2 hub. But if the rear l...

Re: Info on abs speed sensors?

Can anyone confirm if all the hubs and abs sensors are the same in the sw20 turbo and non turbo models across all the years? 90-98 i think last model was?

I have a 90 turbo and checking junk yards and ebay at mo.

Eg. 92 n/a hubs with abs, 95 turbo hubs with abs are some of the cars i have found.

Re: Info on abs speed sensors?

have you tried resetting the abs light and clearing the code. I have tried that... By shorting tc and e1 with the wire unplugged in bonnet, then 8-12 brake pedel within 3 sec but nothing happen. (no abs light flashing really fast at all, just the 36 code) Also tried pulling the ecu fuses and batter...

Is that for the abs sensor or o2?

???

ABS sensor.

Thats great. Would u know the values of resistance for checking the o2 sensor?

Should be between 0.9 and 1.5K measured at the plug terminals.

If not as above, onbviously replace. Bear in mind it is possible to pass above test, but fail waveform amplitude (albeit unlikely).

Thank u very much.

Re: Info on abs speed sensors?

Scope? Multimeter or volt meter u mean I mean an oscilloscope. So the waveform from each sensor can be inspected in the workshop. Not a chance of that happening. Is there any chance a volt meter would work? Say reading the resistance or anything lol If not then ill just replace what i broke and hop...

Re: Info on abs speed sensors?

take the bulb out of the abs warniing and get a mot. Won't happen if MOT tester is doing his job properly. Most owners would rather not have bent MOT [-X ABS sensors are bonded in, so very rarely come out without getting destroyed. Get hold of a 'scope, and check the traces from the suspect sensors...

Braided brake line question

I bought hel braided brake lines on ebay a while ago. When i got the car up, i noticed on the back, the original lines looked different and half the length. My car is a 1990 rev1 mr2 turbo. The 4 hel lines are the same. Is this right? Plus is there a how to guide just to be sure. Plus my workshop ma...

Re: info on rev1 to rev3 conversion or engine swap? whats best?

Think i agree with u all on that. A rev 3 would be less hassle. But i think i will play with this rev 1 1st and just make her worth something and pic up a rev 3+ later. End of the day shes a nice car and deserves some attention. While the body and engine is solid on her. She does need some tlc. Like...

Re: info on rev1 to rev3 conversion or engine swap? whats best?

What would i have to change in a 1990 rev1 turbo to be able to swap to rev3 turbo engine. Just found out that gearbox and clutch should fit with no problems.

Or is the celica gt4 st205 a stright fit? Plus anything else out if it work? Like maybe ecu or loom or something?

Re: info on rev1 to rev3 conversion or engine swap? whats best?

What is the going rate for a rev1 turbo engine, ecu and loom? Basically everything i would have to take out for a rev3 conversion? Anything from £750ish upwards. Difficult to tell in the current market. Shes got 76k and due 1st cam belt as far as i know 1st cambelt change was due 5 years old, 2nd 1...
