Genuine question, why? What does Toyota know about keeping ally cold that everyone else doesn't?

Spoiler in the middle of the car?

Does anyone have any info on this spoiler?

Image

I seem to recall reading about it ages ago but I can't find the right combinations of terms to bring up any results in Google.

thanks

I suspect I'll be ringing Rogue shortly anyway. I'm missing mid engined in my life.

I don't think that's a particularly flattering colour for it. I think it would look better in black. I also think it looks like a mk3 MX-5 went up the bum of a fighter jet.

Re: I am betraying my mark 1 and am moving over to the darkside! woooo

I think that is a really good call. It was the main reason for choosing mine; wind in the hair motoring, the other reason, rendering it possible to enjoy the benefits of mid-engine rwd fun, on an everyday basis. :) The problem is I reckon I'd have it about 10 minutes before I starting fiddling with...

From reading the link above and other places that looks like it was resolved in 2002. Is that not the case?

I'm also currently tempted by a mk3. Had a sit in Toni's racer not long ago and the mk3 is calling. The idea of working on a car with no rust appeals.

Re: Aluminium Flywheels

Yeah thanks for the reminder Paul, a few US companies I have contacted don't actually list the mk1b flywheel, they are usually Mk1a 200mm size :( I could however just get a mk1a clutch, as my clutch would probably have to be replaced anyway at the same time. I have a brand new standard road clutch ...

Re: Front Suspension Modifications ?

Budget is always the reason. It does beg the question of where else corners get cut though. Everywhere you can. Within reason. Some peoples 'within reason' differ from others. Budget is always on the mind of someone paying for their own race car. £200 saved on cutting springs, a component which, if...

Groovy. Do you know what poundage the springs on the k-sports are? The BC ones are about 375/400 front/rear.

Re: Front Suspension Modifications ?

I don't understand race cars running cut springs. Because it costs nothing to do. I can get custom springs made to any fitment and rate, so they could just get a spring made up that does the desired job. It doesn't cost as much as people might expect either. Some have. It's £200 a set. That's £200 ...

What type of top mounts do they have at the front? Are they the camber adjustable ones? Also, what drop links and arb are those?

Re: Front Suspension Modifications ?

I've heard that some of the Mk1s competing in the MR2 Championship used cut down springs - not sure how much they took off though, or what the ( uprated ) springs they used were They definitely do this. Mostly they're using Apex springs which are harder rate to begin with. When the chopped springs ...
