I have a 1991 MR2 MK2. Everytime I accelerate all the warning lights begin to light up then when i slow down again they all go out. They light up and go out as though they were on a dimmer switch. What is the cause and how can i fix it? Many thanks, Andy

Car overheating and spiting out coolant and steam via overflow pipe
I have a 1991 G-limited MR2 MK2. I drove to work yesterday and by the time I had got there the water temp was on H and in the red zone. Steam was pouring out of the overflow pipe next to the collant reservour. On my way home i picked up 7 litres of Forlife and topped up the system. I then used the c...

All sorted, I hope...
I went to the scrap yard today and managed to get a replacement connection for the wiring(not sensor side). I have rewired the new connection on and hopefully will work ok. Is there anyway of checking it is working apart from fuel consumption. I have also reset the ECU incase it had stored the origi...

cable checked
i have checked that the cable is fully opening the throttle and all correct, there was still quite a lot of slack so have moved the bolt that the cable passes through on the engine to tighten the cable slightly and seemed fine. Took her for a drive and noticed that the idle revs had gone up to 2000 ...

[Mk2] [NA] Loose accelerator Cable
How do i tighten the accelrator cable on an MR2 MK2? The cable enters the engine compartment and attaches to accelerator disc, there seems to be quite a lot of slack, not enough to move cable to next point on disc but too much for good accerlation. The accelerator pedal also seems to stick when firs...

I believe i have found the wiring connector, there are two connections with four wires going to each but the two connectors have different fittings and will not connect together and one will require being replaced. My main problem is that both sets of wires are different colours, do you know what co...
