Could someone tell me the best way to remove it. Cheers.
Dont know how deep the scratches are. But managed to polish out some wiper scratches on mrs car ( toyota carina) with one of those cheap kits on e-bay. I know you say thousands - so just a thought, if you have time to spare !
Mine came without, confirmed by toyota dealer who checked my vin Cheers. So at what year did they start fitting cats to the mk2 in this country ? And were they fitted to all import rev 1, like mine ? Sorry for all the questions but would like to know now ! :D Finally does anyone know what the senso...
Thanks for the replies. Madbass - the mot emissions were changed on this date to a new cat test using vehicle specific limits (1st aug 92 to 31st july 95). Cat test meaning a lot lower emissions than previous tho not all vehicles had a cat by then i believe, so thus the reference to 'vehicle specifi...
Had a good search but cant find the answer. Does anyone know what year / revision cats were fitted to uk na mr2's ?
Got a imported rev1 model with a cat. Looking to decat it, what implications and how much of a benefit would it be ?
Cheers.
Ordered a can from Toyota last week.(even got the paint code from the chassis number - is a import too). About £6 and arrived next day.
Sorry just seen online shop bit, there are a few toyota garages that advertise on e-bay who would obviously deliver tho.
Cheers Patrick - really appreciate the offer. My normal trade is an electrician so car electrics dont really daunt me, its just getting a wiring diagram and working my way thro. Im certain its the immobiliser for i disconnected the 'transponder key amp' by the steering lock and of course it fails to...

Some early toyotas did have the alarm/ remote centrol locking system under the drivers seat. Some wires should lead to radar sensor normally a separate bit of kit.
Does anyone know the ins and outs of the TVSS IIIB alarm and immobiliser system please (honestly not going to steal someones car ! :o ) A brief detail mainly on the immobiliser part with the key and chip, and how the engine is immobilised would be greatly appreciated. The engine still turns over but...
Your local toyota dealer should have the wiring diagrams for the TVSS IIIB alarm with the installation instructions (i believe the alarms were fitted at what they call 'point of entry' ie when imported into this country) which was fitted from july '95 onwards on the mr2 i think. If they are a friend...
Interesting thread. For the record got number 1085, registered 19/4/1990. Thought it must be early when i noticed all the zeros after the sw20 bit ! Unfortunately been off the road for while till I get the time to do a few bits on it - hopefully that is coming soon.
Have you still got the mobile lift ? (sorry havent been on for a while) Had a bit of a conversation with you about it, as far back as last november after looking back thro the thread !
cheers
The leather was shot, so as you say i peeled it off and replaced it with a good one from a passenger seat. Found the head rest mouldings easy to remove after a little bit of examination, lift the leather cover (inside out)almost all the way off and from inside the seat back you can push the round mo...
Cheers Jason. Your spot on - managed to get to the bottom 14mm bolt but as you say for the top one you have to peel back the leather/ material. Was a right faff but took them out into the sunshine today and carefully undone all the metal rings and all came apart ok. Got the back cover from the good ...
Got four leather seats, trying to make one good pair. One drivers seat has got a good back and bad base and vica versa for the other one. Thought i could just swap them over but struggling tho to separate the back from the base. One side just has a bolt but the other has the spring loaded adjustment...
Thanks - was a long day 9.30 am to 7.30 pm with 2 of us pretty much hard at it most of the day ! Starter motor was a real pig with what my mate discribed as grown on, must have taken us best part of a hour to get it off. Years ago did a mk1 fiesta clutch and was doing the job on my own - well the sa...
