Back In Black

Im an old member returning! A quick recap - I owned a mr2 mk2 rev1 NA I believe which was a great car. In blue, I decided to add veilside kit (and bomex front bumper as hate the long nose of the veilside) but got bored and swapped it for a Rover Coupe Turbo. After having owned the rover for quite a ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fitting XS-Power Intercooler and GTS-Chris Shroud and Fan

Id like to know what the difference between the stock and xs intercooler is. They both look the same size (xs looks a bit smaller if anything) so just wondering what is the point?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Im a little confused.

i wouldnt worry about working out what u would lose over the years!!! If you are serios about modding and power then the first port of call is a full service and then a rolling road check to see what power its putting out. This will be your base to start with. Then add the mods that you want and the...

Re: Should i sell or not?

bluesmoke - read up on it. Rev 1&2 use air low meters and dump valves dump to air so having a dump valve on a rev1 or 2 affects the afm and fuelling which messes up the ecu.

Re: Should i sell or not?

Its a hard choice. At the mo, the mr2 tubby seems the better choice for what ive been offered. Its insured as a classic so insurance is cheap and the tax isnt too bad.Mot isnt till may and apart from a good polish its in good nick. However the bmw coupe ive been offered is more in tax (2.8l) and ins...

Re: Should i sell or not?

ive been offered a bmw 328i sport coupe which looks real nice but only prob is its an auto. Has fsh and 10 months mot and a bit of tax.

Only things that puts me off is the auto, and im finding the insurance is alot more than the turbo!

def wont break it - id rather keep it as its a good motor.

It is a smart motor, like i said just needs a good mop as red is a little pinkish.

Im in no rush to sell it as baby not due till June but its currently untaxed so unused. Thats killing me as im in two minds to tax it and use it till then or until it sells but if it was to sell then id rather it go sooner rather than later if that makes sense!

Re: Should i sell or not?

I have a work car (new astra estate) with free fuel so tend to use that most the time. But i do over 100 miles a day in it and it gets boring so driving something else is a nice change. I only use it for the gym and shops through the week and i have my 2 daughters every other weekend so dont use it ...
