Re: [Mk2] [NA] Turbo conversion, loom?
The kick well loom is not one piece, if you look carefully, you'll see a small plastic cover that once flicked up, reveals two 10mm nuts that clamp the main power wire together. The problem you're going to have, is that a UK dash loom, won't have the correct wires in place for the correct turbo sens...

Re: Service parts
It is indeed a place for advice, and if you'd stated that you'd already tried a couple of avenues, it wouldn't have looked like you were just being lazy  I wasn't having a pop above, but it came across as though you hadn't done any research yourself. MrT orders parts using a chassis and frame n...

Re: Service parts
Have you been to Toyota and asked them ? Have you looked it up yourself on a site such as cam skill ? Have you called any of the specialists or specialist parts suppliers, such as rogue, tcb, fensport, motex, euro car parts, part co etc ? I'm more than happy to help most people, but a simple bit of ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Urgent Rev2 Turbo help!!!
I'm sure setting 9 is correct, I used to have a hks fcd myself, but since running rev3 management, I haven't needed one. And I really can't remember what mine was set to
13 psi is 'safe', most folk recommend not exceeding 1 bar (14.5) psi on a stock rev1 or 2 engine

Sounds like you've got a ct20b gasket ?
If so, it doesn't matter, it will still work fine

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Urgent Rev2 Turbo help!!!
You've hit fuel cut mate, 13 psi on a rev1/2 iirc. You'll need to reset the ecu, by pulling the efi fuse for a minute or so, and then check to make sure the error code has cleared. A Google search will explain how to check fault codes, with a paper clip, and will be quicker than me trying to explain...

Yep, even last summer, my hand commander was suggesting intake temps of only circa 37 deg c on full boost

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ebay w2a cores ?
How so mark ???? If the core stays cold, it means that the charge heat is transferring efficiently from the core, into the water passages sufficiently. The intake pipe from the core to the tb was also suitably cool, therefore meaning that the core was efficiently cooling the charge temps. Yes of cou...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ebay w2a cores ?
The eBay cores are very good. I'd be highly surprised if they weren't the exact same ones that frozen boost sell, without the 'mark up'
My core was an eBay jobbie, and was always stone cold, even after lots of boost

Re: bov valve fix?
They're not a one way valve Carl, they're actually a two way valve, but the air travels more freely one way than the other. The valve is to balance out the pressure differential in the bypass valve (bov) to keep its operation as smooth as possible. Also, if your stock bov is 'honking' it means that ...

Another vote here for that oil, nothing wrong with using it.
As long as its the correct viscosity and a good brand, I can't see what all the fuss is about. Oil is oil - and these are on average, 20 year old technology engines

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] reading a e.c.u
The management light should illuminate permanently with the ignition on, and go off when the engine starts.
If that isn't happening, then you have a wiring fault somewhere bud, and I'd suggest fixing that before proceeding

Does the engine management light illuminate when you switch the ignition on at all ?
