Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Regarding your 1.5 headlights, if they don't come up, if you haven't already done it, check the 7.5A RTR and the 30A RTR MTR fuses, both in RB #5 (front boot fusebox) either or both will stop the headlights from coming up.
You can if necessary wind them up/down by hand

Re: Refreshing/Conditioning T-bar rubbers... how?

I now use Gummi Pflege used to use a silicon spray. Both are good, but the Gummi Pflege is easier/less messy to use and isn't silicon based. When I used the silicon spray I used to spray it into the cap lid and used a small bit of sponge to apply it ( trying to keep the silicon off the paintwork/win...

Re: Amber front side lights

Position lamps Rear position lamps must emit a steady red light. For front position lamps, the following colour of light is acceptable: predominantly white light with a blue tinge, yellow light - if combined in a yellow headlamp If position lamps are combined with direction indicators, position lam...

Re: Reinstating Air Con

Worth bearing in mind you can't get R12, it's no longer manufacturered and id banned. You can still run a system containing it, but it's not legal to sell or offer it for servicing purposes. Most cars after 1992/3 will be R134a, there's ( or there used to be) conversion kits available. R134a is a co...

Re: Aftermarket Radio Installation

86212-17010 and 86211-17010 are the early brackets. Both early and late are no longer available from Mr T, they were only used on the MK1, so I'd say eBay or one of the MR2 breakers are your only hope.
Good luck with the search

Re: Aftermarket Radio Installation

1986 is possibly a 1a which didn't have the pocket, it only had a single DIN space and the brackets are different, easy to tell, if your ashtray is to the side of the tunnel its a 1b, if its in front of the gearstick, it's a 1a This is a 1b https://jlawson.co.uk/originalsite/Various/slides/Pioneer%2...

For brakes (calipers and parts) both Brakes International https://www.brakesint.co.uk/ and Bigg Red https://www.biggred.co.uk/ are good, I've used both and also had many good reports on them 8)

Re: Parts shared with other Toyota Models - has to be

Toyota already provides a facility in the EPC (Electronic Parts Catalogue) to find all models that use a particular part number. Its called Part Number Application to Models, you enter the part number and it will list any Toyota/Lexus that uses the same part. Part numbers are 85710-17030 MOTOR ASSY,...

Re: Haynes Manual

Be aware that if you download the pdf in the link to shinny's storage, that the ecu diagnostic codes in it are not correct for a UK MK1 and all the parts referring to cats and EGR systems do not apply to UK spec cars. If you use the link I posted you can download the 4A-GE engine manual ( which has ...

Re: Rattling noise from TVIS area

If you take the vacuum line off the actuator (blank the line) the butterflies will stay open. Normal operation is Engine off = v/v's open Engine running ( below T-VIS actuation rpm = v/v's closed) Above actuation rpm = v/v's open ( until rpm drop below a set value) Operating points for T-VIS are MK1...

Re: Thinking of Selling...

I'd do it individually (don't sell them to any Welsh breakers) The "rare" parts are worth a lot these days, for example http://www.mr2mk1club.com/showthread.php?18545-MR2-MK1-W10-AW11-OEM-Ski-bars-Roof-bars-rack If you do decide to sell it would be worth putting ads on the MK1 Club and the...

Re: Been 10 years since I was on this site

Fuel pump only runs when your cranking or the engine is running. As above bridging Fp and B+ on the check connector will run the pump with the ignition on but only recommended as a check. If it hasn't run in that time then there's a fair chance the pump has seized up. No alternator won't matter othe...
