Re: Stereo wiring / power antenna

The factory ground should be fine, works OK on mine.
Fog light is Red/Green from the the switch to the light, Red/White from the fog light relay to the switch (fog light relay is only energised when the light switch is in the headlight position)

Re: Stereo wiring / power antenna

If you still have the original MK1 aerial with the blue relay in the boot then it needs a signal for up AND a signal for down, unlike most electrical aerials that go up with a signal and go down when the signal is removed. IIRC Pink/Blue wire is the up signal and Black/Red wire (at the harness behin...

Re: Passenger window help - 1989 G 1.6

Do the same test again at the drivers side switch BUT leave the leave the drivers switch connected and connect the meter at the back of the plug. Colours are the same Green and Red/Blue pin numbers are 1 & 6 (which are opposite each other at the same end) and operate the passengers switch (on th...

Re: Passenger window help - 1989 G 1.6

No it doesn't help, it's not what I asked for and your numbering is incorrect. The article link I posted earlier shows the correct Toyota method for numbering of the plug and the wire colours. Numbering is (looking at the front of the plug) Top Left = 1 Top right = 2 Bottom Left = 3 Bottom Middle = ...

Re: Passenger window help - 1989 G 1.6

To recap the motor will go up and down by applying 12v to it (Red and Green wires, one way for down and reversed for up) ? That being the case looking at the results of the other post it looks like a faulty switch. Seeing as you have replaced the passengers switch it's unlikely (but not impossible) ...

Re: Passenger window help - 1989 G 1.6

That's not what I asked. Try it now with everything connected as normal from both sets of controls and report back i.e. Drivers side controls, passengers window up - yes/no down - yes/no Passengers side controls, passengers window up - yes/no down - yes/no Any / all the info you collect now, helps t...

Re: Mk1 Alarm Wiring Diagram?

It's not factory fitted, MK1's didn't come with a factory fitted alarm/central locking system. Mine originally had a Scorpion system fitted (seems to have been a common dealer fitted system) which was replaced in 2003 with an Autowatch 346 RLI alarm/immobiliser with central locking and a single zone...

Re: Passenger window help - 1989 G 1.6

With everything connected as normal, ignition on will the window go up or down from either switch (drivers or passengers ? If you have a meter check that it will read 12v DC (check it across the battery) Download and print the 2 diagrams in this zip file, you will need them. http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/o...

Re: Mk1 Alarm Wiring Diagram?

I've scanned my copy of the Toyota MK1 Electrical diagrams, you can download a pdf copy here http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/ocdownloads/Zip%20Files/ BTW many MK1's (including mine) had remote central locking back in the 20th century  in fact mine has remote window closure and puts on the interior ligh...

Re: Passenger window help - 1989 G 1.6

If it does turn out to be the power window relay box in the drivers door, drop me a PM, I have a spare you can have for postage cost. The relay only controls the drivers window, not the passengers one. If the switch for the passengers window on the drivers door is faulty then the passengers door sw...

Re: Passenger window help

If you have been told that the relay controls the passengers window then yes. The window relay controls the drivers window ONLY. Have a look at this article of mine, the first drawing is of the standard MK1 electric window circuit which shows clearly how the 2 windows are controlled. http://myweb.ti...

The 1b filter was originally in the boot not in the engine bay and has plastic ducting that runs round the boot to the drivers side intake

Re: Passenger window help

No point in getting the relay, it only does the drivers window  passengers is controlled directly by the switches, it goes through both switches, drivers and passengers so either could be at fault or it could be the motor, I'd find the problem before ordering bits especially from that "ge...
