Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
It's definitely not the downpipe or wastegate as I know that's all fine cold or hot. I didn't test the coil because it was brand new. I haven't replaced the air temp sensor as of what Paul said in an earlier post. Going to do a compression test friday and check my timing. Running out of things to ch...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
I think its damp inside the ignitor (or was it coil  )that causes this. It's had lambda sensor, plugs, leads, coil, igniter, dis cap, rotor arm, coolant temp sensor, main earth under inlet removed and cleaned, map sensor pipe put back to original and I sourced a new feed from end of the inlet ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
Yeah I've got a berk downpipe. I have got a very slight blow at the moment. I've just changed the turbo to downpipe gasket and there's still a leak. I'll have to investigate further. I can't see it effecting it much because my old downpipe cracked 3/4 of the way round and it still ran ok.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
It's had lambda sensor, plugs, leads, coil, igniter, dis cap, rotor arm, coolant temp sensor, main earth under inlet removed and cleaned, map sensor pipe put back to original and I sourced a new feed from end of the inlet manifold for my boost sensor and gauge. Tomorrow I'm going to bleed the coolan...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
Right Paul, I've sorted the map sensor connection, removed and cleaned the earth on the inlet manifold and there are no error codes. Still got the problem when cold and its fine once warm. Any other ideas? Cheers.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
What does the filter look like? Not sure if ive got one. I've got a boost gauge and a boost sensor tee'd off the map sensor pipe! I will get the feed from else where now. I think I've fixed my problem but I need to use the car for a few more days to be sure. It was the plug that goes on the coolant ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
Got some bad news, the problems back. I'll explain what's happened... Original problem was only when cold then ran fine once warmed up. Then it started doing it really bad all the time regarding the temperature. It showed error code 21 (lambda sensor). Right some progress, I checked out the lambda s...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?
Cars sorted! It was the lambda sensor lead shorting out! Who ever connected it in the past only used tape to cover the elecrical connections, the tape melted which caused it to short out. She's running perfect now.

The thermostats not very old and it does it even with the heaters off.djpkins wrote:Do you need to bleed air out of your system? If the prob goes away when water has been allowed to circulate after turning the blower fan to hot you have air in the system or maybe a sticky thermostat.

Ok then.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270611855102&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en Any good??? With your power you'd be right on the limit of the clutch. You need to rate the clutch 20% higher than your actual power. I was thinking stage 2 f...
