Re: CT20B power outputs....

Just found a website for what appears to be the UK distributor for Dynojet, and here's a list of places that have dynos: http://www.dynojet.co.uk/dyno_centres.html I rang them to find out if they're the same as used in the States, but the MD (Frank) is the only one that can deal with serious technic...

Re: CT20B power outputs....

CAMS make a HUGE difference. Yeah, I know (having worked with Piper on their 3SGTE profiles) but so does race fuel. That's why I'd like to know if he ran race fuel on that too. Also, Brian is pretty hot at dialing in cams, and tuning. The point I'm trying to make is that it's pretty much the peak o...

Re: CT20B power outputs....

http://www.mr2ownersclub.com/mr2records/dyno/bmoore.jpg It shows his mods on there and lists boost at 20 psi. I do not have details beyond that (like fuel type). I wonder how much of an effect the cams made? Anyway, it's still the best I know of on a stock CT0b. What is the "SQM"? Sorry, ...

Re: CT20B power outputs....

Incidentally, I should mention that Dynojet dynos will read higher than eddy current load cell dynos, but the thing is, no one's done a back-to-back comparison to see. I think there's a Dynojet dyno over here in the UK somewhere, but not sure where. That would be a great way to compare figures with ...

Re: CT20B power outputs....

Go here: http://www.mr2ownersclub.com/mr2records/mr2records.htm Click "dyno" ... you can see what all sorts of turbos are making :) Nice one, Jeff. NoShoes has got the highest figures, 317.6rwhp, but ISTR that it was running race fuel? Anyway, he wired the wastegate shut for that IIRC, so...

lol ... Unlike Bush, I have no problems admitting when I make a mistake. That being said, I would admit if I voted for him. I voted for Kerry as did my girlfriend. My stepfather voted for Bush. Jeff, I don't blame you for not admitting it, mate. I wouldn't either.

Mind you, as a country we're no better for voting in Bush's puppet!
And I *defo* didn't vote for him!! [-X

Dino, what boost was that at - cos as far as i can tell the major performance mods were : Piggy back ecu Downpipe Induction Kit Zorst Uprated IC Mapped WI did your internals cope with whatever boost you were running to get that RWHP fig ?.. (i guess WI helps  ) Why did you go for a re-build ?...

Re: Question, why am i faster at 11psi than my setup of 15psi..

A standard CT20b can do that, with the right supporting mods, and so can a decent CT26 hybrid (as long as it has a 48mm compressor wheel or bigger, like Fensport's Stage3). There ARE bigger CT26s though that are worth trying. Basically, as a rough guess, ask people what the "inducer" diame...

Re: Question, why am i faster at 11psi than my setup of 15psi..

i did have the ct27 in mind? good upgrade??? Can't fairly comment either way, as I've never seen one in the flesh, or even heard of it on a UK car. It depends on your goals, and what other mods you're going to do, to be honest (ie whether you want to do this all on stock internals). If you're tryin...

Re: *Down pipe & system swap - help needed*

OK, the legal thing aside, the main problem with getting the CAT/turbo elbow off is doing it without shearing the bolts/studs. NOT an easy task! Some are lucky, others aren't. Maybe a bit of WD40 on all of them, then running the car, then doing again, etc, might help. I've even heard of some people ...

Re: Question, why am i faster at 11psi than my setup of 15psi..

Just to add another thing, that can cause a dip in the torque just after it's properly come on boost.... INTERNAL WASTEGATES! If you take a look at some of the plots on my site, including mine, you'll see that they too have dips right there. Basically, as the car comes on boost, once it's reached it...

Re: What is it with these Yank sellers?

I used to get great service from Terry Saltzman of Grd4Spd. OK, there were a couple of minor issues, but the guy generally dealt with everything very well.

I don't know if he's still around though, as I've not heard much about him in a LONG time. Anyone know?

Re: CT20B power outputs....

Kiwi, your options are a bit off, IMHO, so I voted for the nearest one! I'd say that on stock internals, 280-290rwhp is the best you'll get, and with forgies, you could probably *just* break 300rwhp on a Rev3. Here's the spec needed to run 280rwhp: http://www.mr2mania.com/?8 And here's the dyno plot...
