Re: Power Steering
It's the steering wheel position sensor that is the issue, on the oem boss there is a metal ring that passes through the sensor and should activate the ps. Your problem will either be down to an aftermarket wheel & boss which doesn't have the part to pass through the sensor or a problem with the...

Re: Handle removal
My handle gets regular use every time I enter a corner with some enthusiasm with my girlfriend in the car. As soon as I see her grab the handle I know I'm doing well.

Re: Fuel Consumption
Willenium My tubbies are standard or nearly standard (air filter/dump valve) and will easily do 3 round trips of 50 miles each way with some boost opportunities on free flowing A roads and motorways. With the long commutes I do I am glad I dont have your low mpg! Same, mine is mostly standard and 9...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Traction control light and Error code 35
Check your traction control error codes as this will also put the P/S and ABS systems into diagnostic mode also. Unfortunately as the traction control option was quite rare it would seem no one has a list of the codes. It's likely that fixing a problem with the ABS will fix the TRC. I have a problem...

Re: Radiator replacement
So - where's the best place to get a good, cheap radiator from? "good" and "cheap" rarely go together. OEM copy for about £145, lifetime guarantee. Cheap copy or cheap aluminium, £110ish, 12 month guarantee. The cheap ones often have the bleed screw in the wrong place making ble...

Nice one man! yeah easy fix, thankfully they gave me the correct coil as well, the coil/ignitor brackets really do get in such a mess though, i was only able to secure my coil on with 2 of the bolts, i'm gonna have to get new bolts, the exhaust is literally shaking the car loose just now :( Do you ...

Re: Removable silencers - angry neighbours
half past ten... Sunday evening... let the car idle for a couple of minutes That's your issue! It's not the car, it's how you're using it  You've got a loud car, so get moving as soon as possible once you've started the engine at night. Sitting a loud car at idle outside someone's house can b...

For that much money why not just buy a new headunit with the functionality you want built in?

Traction Control Error Codes
Hello all, Does anyone know of a list of the traction control error codes? The TRC light comes on after driving for a few minutes and the system no longer functions, it's worked faultlessly up until now. I've checked for the normal error codes and nothing shows up so I'm going to check for TRC codes...

Re: TRD thermostat for track use. Yes or No?
I think the TRD opens at 78 (from memory). Bit of a tangent, but what about the 1.3 bar rad caps? I have one. It says Blitz on it, so it's great....but does it help? Doesn't the boiling point go down at higher pressure? Is that a good thing? Boiling point goes up with pressure. Basically my view on...

Re: Driving in snow
Im thinking that the MR2 wasnt loving being sheathed in ice this morning. So much so, she didnt want to open the doors and let me in. About 5mm of ice on the front windscreen that required some hacking at with the ice scraper and warm/hot ish water around the door seals and door handle managed to f...

Re: Driving in snow
Any car is much improved with winter tyres, most people don't seem to bother because it costs so much to do. On the other hand - you ruin your 'summer' tyres by driving them in freezing conditions, so perhaps you actually save money. How is it that summer tyres are ruined by driving in freezing con...

Re: Driving in snow
The car is better than most RWD due to having the engine over the rear wheels which benefits traction hugely. But the width of your tyres makes the biggest difference, on 225 width I've not had any major problems getting around. But I also live in the south west so we don't get much proper snow and ...

You don't have it set to re circulate the air do you? Also if you have air con then turn it on and it will dry the car out nicely.

You could try EARS they sourced me some Toyo T1R tyres a few months ago at a very good price. Contact Mike at mike@ears.co.uk tell him Nic pointed you his way as he said he'd do members a good deal. I tried Ears back at the end of July and said they weren't able to source them anymore. I tried Ears...

Re: Best insurance policy for under-25s
I used admiral when I was 25, they have a limit on mods but are quite cheap. Any specialists I tried were either very expensive or wanted previous experience of a performance rwd, and a fair few won't insure anyone under 25.

When I swapped my old standard rad for a new aluminium one with plastic end tanks it was significantly lighter, a good few kilos.

Re: Easy Question about standard Radiators
Standard rads are copper cored and have metal end tanks. As a result they are bloody heavy.
