[Mk2] [Turbo] Odd running problem
Ever since I gave the car a good snow foaming and pressure wash a couple of weeks back I've had an odd problem. For the first 10-15 mins of any journey while driving at a constant speed I will get an intermittent judder/hesitation and also a reluctance to rev until I reach the boost threshold and on...

Re: Air Con Condenser
I had my condenser and receiver drier replaced last year, I sourced the parts myself from amazon.com as the cost in the UK as you've found out is ridiculous. I was lucky and didn't get stung with customs duty. Receiver/drier - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IWLAEA/ref=pe_309540_26725410_item Condenser...

Re: Annoying inspection panel rattle
Didn't get around to updating this properly, when removing the inspection panel and refitting it cures the problem for about 20 minutes. Then the same god awful rattle comes back, I've no idea why as I've removed it in the past with no issues and it is located properly and screwed in securely. Does ...

Re: Removing ignition coil
I paid £18.83 delivered, turned up this morning. I want to buy my parts from your garage, mine was £20.36 and I had to collect. Swapped it over today, bloody glad I bought the new bracket otherwise I'd have spent a fair while drilling out these rusty bastards! They just crumbled at the sight of a s...

Re: Removing ignition coil
Bracket ordered, hoping for a dry weekend and that the igniter screws come out easily! just out of interest how much was the bracket?? I've bodged mine and i'm not happy with it.. if the bracket is reasonable i'll get another one with some hex head screws. Not too much, £16.xx + VAT. Not as ridicul...

Re: Removing ignition coil
If your replacing the bracket why drill them out ? When I replaced mine I removed the bracket then smashed the crap out of the coil until I could see the heads of the screws and then knocked them off( which was easy due to how much corrosion they had). I didn't replace my bracket I just soaked it i...

Re: Removing ignition coil
Have you already managed to get the igniter off ok? Mine was a royal PITA as the screws and igniter had managed to corrode together, due to two different metals. If the screws were properly corroded to the igniter did you have to drill out and re-tap? If this kind of thing is involved then i'...

Re: Removing ignition coil
Hmm, may leave this job for a little while if it's going to involve hours of drilling out rusty screws. With no garage access i'd rather wait until i have a nice sunny day, a working drill, all tools necessary for removing horrible rusty xxxxxx screws and a lot of patience, and maybe a lump hammer f...

Re: Removing ignition coil
Considering that my drill has just died and I can't afford a new one right now, if I just order the above bracket can I avoid any horrible rusty screws and just chuck out the old coil and bracket as a whole?

Re: Removing ignition coil
What kind of material drill bit should I be using? And should it be the same/a close diameter to that of the screw itself? And what length & pitch bolts should I be looking for to replace them? Would definitely be much happier if they were S/S with a hex head
Apologies for my noob questions.

We always replace the bracket with a new one when replacing the coil.
So no need for drilling out any screws? I can just take the old coil & bracket and chuck it in the bin?

Removing ignition coil
Hi chaps, Planning on changing my coilpack this weekend, but last time I had a look at it the screw heads were pretty damn rusty and seemed to crumble when any twisting force was applied. What are my best and easiest options for removing these pesky buggers? I've never had to remove a rusty screw be...

There's a tyre company called funky tyres who are getting a good reputation and seem to be cheaper than most.

Re: Council run MOT for a tubby
I take mine to the local protyre where it's only £30 and they're very proficient, at a council place it'll be full price. VOSA have very strict regulations concerning mot testing, if a garage was discovered to be making up results and failing cars deliberately they'd be in serious trouble and would ...

I'm sure you know this already, but when taking the wheel off leave the nut on a few turns so you don't smash yourself in the face.
