Re: [Mk2] [NA] Exhaust fitting
manifolds between rev2 and rev3 are different, had alot of pain with this recently as alot of places sell parts as being universal to all uk mk2's when clearly they arent. cant find anything definative on this but - caveat emptor.
Some downpipes also have screw in lambda sensors - some bolt on.

^ this your going to struggle overhauling the whole susp/brakes/intercooler for £2k incl labour tyres and alignment should make the world of difference for ~£450 If your going all the way to the ring might look at trackday tyres like toyo R888's or yoko AD08.. If you have standard rims (15") yo...

Rare JDM 16" Blitz Type01 Split Rims - MR2 Offsets + Staggered
16" Blitz Type 01 7J ET35 Front 8J ET38 Rear These are definitely in need of some love - there is some kerb rash, lip damage + the existing finish is peeling on most, one has had a part rub down... Given the right treatment they can look awesome and there cannot be too many around at 16" ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Gas strut proppy thingy
you need 2 for the bonnet but I wouldnt bother - I have some - they do the job but they dont fit too well and make the bonnet sit proud ever so slightly.
There may be better ones out there but for the 'usefulness' its not worth it - certainly helpful on the engine lid and you only need one.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] starting issue...
My first thought was a duff coil pack but given you have a light flashing - run another diagnostic. Are you sure you are doing it right?
Also - which lihght is flashing?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Changing the ignition coil
JeffD, malcster - I got it started thankyou. starts alot more crisply. relativley easy job in the end - but (for anyone else who is intertested) I had to drill the heads of the four screws that hold the coil into the bracket (the heads just dissolved under load from a screwriver!) but I managed to u...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Alternator belt squeel
This thread might help a little
http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... highlight=
Is it kept garaged? Has the alternator ever been changed? If not, it might be ceasing up and hence the belt slipping.... best to check the alt pully is moving freely before you put a new belt on.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Changing the ignition coil
OK dude, thanks. I was concerned about the cover - guess it slides in toward the engine rather than up out of the bay (as I had been trying!) - is it secured in any way or should it just slide by force of hand? sorry for the q's but this will probably save me 30mins of head scratching and grazed knu...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Changing the ignition coil
Thanks guys. Good to hear about the cover coming off... I was poking at it last sunday and thought it was a spanner job! does the cover just unclip and pull upwards? or is it screwed down in any way? I have seen a bgb drawing but that didnt help much! Do I need the origonal cover or does this genera...

Is this as difficult as it looks?
Having to remove the fuse/ground box looks like a PITA.
Anyone aware of a different way or have a link to a how to?
Any tips will be gratefully recieved!
Thanks.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] redirecting horn ..............
When I got my steerting wheel, I got the fitting thrown in. The chap was familliar with mr2's and tested the horn many many times during fitting. He said this was becasue the earth can detatch during fitting. I guess that might be your problem? mine had an anniversery momo boss in, but I doubt that ...

Assuming they do a proper job, thats not too bad a price.
If I were you, I would just top up with some anti-freeze stop it and wait for warmer weather to DIY it.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Frozen hand brake and door lock
Setting the handbrake up correctly is quite quirky on the MR2. Winding callipers and the like... I cant imagine every garage will be aware of the right way to do it....
I got my cables from camskill.
you have remided me to go easy on the h/brake though
