Re: advice please on coilovers what should i be doing?

So I think what Donato is saying, is that the RCA resets the angle of the lower arms to the value at the original ride height, after you have lowered the car?

Re: Japfest club stand 2014

Mroc are going to be going in to the gate further down the road to the one we'll be going in to, so as long as you know you're going in the first gate, it won't matter how the convoy is formed - all imoc-cers will just turn off at quarry gate and mroc-ers carry on down the road. I have a busy day ah...

Re: Gearbox refurb questions

Yes, the circlip does go in that grove. Whether it should be a loose fit or not, not sure!

Great work on that box!

Re: Japfest club stand 2014

I would think it's unlikely to be honest. I take it your spare wheel is full size and you'll wanna swap the good tyre from the out of round wheel to your spare?

Re: Japfest club stand 2014

You've still got time -

I reckon you could get someone round to you to do a quick temporary refurb to get the wheel up to scratch.

Or

You can get wheels re-rounded - check if a wheel refurb place could do it.

Re: Japfest club stand 2014

Was in Southampton on Sunday, and if we can have that weather I'd be most happy. However, Countryfile weather forecast didn't look good for this week in terms of amounts of rain in the South. That forecast isn't often wrong (which is why I watch it) unfortunately!

Re: Oh no! Dash lights!

Yeah, I checked the plug pins for battery voltage and all three were ok. Changed the alternator today, aswell as the rad so now we're back in business.

Thanks for everyone's help on this!

Re: Japfest club stand 2014

Alternator and radiator replaced - no more dashboard Christmas tree, which is nice! (surprised at how loud it is without exhaust!) Monday will see the exhaust reinstalled, final brackets for the recaros fabricated and installed, and then it's time for the cleaning to begin! Hmm new alternator and ra...

Yeah, it's the shizz for stuff like this. You can get it in black and grey aswell as white. Thanks for the info on the calipers, I'll check them out. tigerseal - I used it to fix a centre cap when I had a badly machined centre bore on an alloy. It worked well and wasn't visible from the outside. Whe...

Re: Oh no! Dash lights!

Thanks for the suggestions. Ok, charged battery last night and reads 12.6v when attached to the car. With the engine on, this drops to 12.1v (so its not being charged...). The alternator 3-pin plug came off with no effort so, I wonder if it's worked loose bit by bit. I plugged it back in firmly (suc...

Oh no! Dash lights!

Hoping this isn't too much of a pain in the rear. Mk.2s are new to me so am a bit baffled. Car: UK NA Rev.5 So, I came to move the car to get the wheels off for refurb yesterday and the following lights remained lit when the car was started (besides parking brake...). Battery discharge light Low Oil...
