for the mr2 either doing an engine swap or buying a turbo car is the best choice, however a turbo conversion would be possible. You can run probably 6-8psi on the high comp engine unless the 3sge is particularly weak which seems unlikely.
Excellent, I will be in touch if mine is knackered.
Thanks for the feedback everybody, I will take mine apart and try to find where exactly its blowing from. I have a Janspeed fitted and the volume has doubled so its definitely not a loose heat shield
I havent had a chance yet to take the heat shield off to see exactly what the issue is but its been a bit blowy for a while and as of last night / this morning it sounds like the manifold isnt even attached anymore   I figure one from a breakers wont have that much life on it now? Not e...

Just to put my money where my mouth is.... Theres no magic parts on the above to make it do that, its still fundamentally the same car that we all drive :) Unless you are compairing the NA and Turbo its going to be different ;) The sudden increase in torque / power when the turbo comes in if your trying to correct a slide will easilly screw...
My MR2 was my first RWD car which I bought at 18, im now going on 21 and love provoking the back end, especially in the wet. To the point where i've spent rainy late nights driving around with a set of 195 50s on the rear of my 2. Im not proposing to be some kind of driving god by any means but woul...
The "kit" you are on about on the first load of cars is not an off the shelf kit. Each customer went to the same body shop who modified TRD WB kits to each customers taste, so each of the kits posted has slight differences (think the white one is the curviest and widest wit hthe red being ...
To be honest I never had problems with the 2 in over seven and a half years of ownership, until this year and thats because they didn't grit the damn roads. Even with my foot steady on the throttle, in low gear, cruising at about 10 mph without doing anything the car was sliding on ice. Mainly due ...
As for wet weather and ice etc, I think it's rubbish when people say they can't use their car. What they mean is THEY can't drive sensibly enough for the condtions. My old 300bhp tubby was fine in wet, ice and snow, because I used to drive around off boost and do the things you're supposed to do fo...
I did the same - never even came close in 7 years of MR2 ownership, until lastnight. This is why I would advise anybody to have a play in a safe, empty area. Two benefits, firstly you get a good idea of where the limits are and how to react when you overstep them and secondly the first time you los...
Hi guys, I thought there would be some interest in a cheap track day for the more tail happy / enthusiastic drivers? The below has been taken from Driftworks who are a sound bunch of guys, more than happy to give passenger rides and even sit in your car for a bit of free instruction. The more suppor...
how do you decide you have widened the front track by 40mm? You have effectively fitted 7.5j with an offset of 32 for this to be an increase of 40mm your old wheels would of had to have an offset of 62
