for the mr2 either doing an engine swap or buying a turbo car is the best choice, however a turbo conversion would be possible. You can run probably 6-8psi on the high comp engine unless the 3sge is particularly weak which seems unlikely.

how do you decide you have widened the front track by 40mm? You have effectively fitted 7.5j with an offset of 32 for this to be an increase of 40mm your old wheels would of had to have an offset of 62

sounds like your offsets are too high. ou probably want a 5-10mm spacer depending on how much rubbing you get

I think the ET87 is probably ET37 You wont need to fit bolts instead of studs
