It might be worth having a look at your bushes, top mounts, ball joints and suspension links just to check that everything is true.

Is this noise before the engine starts to turn over or after the engine has started? It sounds to me like the starter motor gear is not fully engaging or disengaging with the flywheel ring gear. Was the low oil pressure ever resolved? Did you keep it running with the tappy top end? I've heard of cams ceasing / going tight causing belts to snap. I would have thought that the crank bearings would go before the cam with low oil pressure though. Have you had a look under the cambelt cover yet? ...
