Re: What are the 'must do's' before a track day?

Just to add on to what the others have said: Although this isn't car specific... I'd say be more observant than ever on track. Of course it depends what kind of people are on the track when you're out there but keep an eye on the mirrors when you can. :thumleft: Prior to the trackday itself, change ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Winter tyres for standard 15" wheels ?

I will get some new wheels at some point, if only because I want a greater choice in tyre but for now I'm sticking with 15" :) + I have 2 sets, so it makes sense to have one set for normal road and the other with slicks or winter tyres. Yeah I'd have to go with a skinnier tyre for sure, I was j...

[Mk2] [NA] Winter tyres for standard 15" wheels ?

Having just read through this months Evo, it's a timely reminder that I should make use of my spare wheels. So this year IF I can find any winter tyres that fit, I think I may try some out, the trouble is, has anyone got stock for our wheels ? (The rear's seemed to be an issue before) Note: This isn...

Get someone to press the clutch pedal and you will see the arm move and hear the squeek.

Thank you, will try and do that tomorrow :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Battery problem or something else ? (electrics just cut out)

Cheers for the reply :thumleft: I managed 15 miles after the battery was fully charged  I had borrowed a spare battery, so thought I could chuck it in when the other one ran out but the spare one was knackered...ended up with a fooking nasty bill from the AA ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) I *think* I have...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Battery problem or something else ? (electrics just cut out)

Belt replaced but the lights have appeared again.
I guess this means new alternator time, as the cables seemed to still be attached fine, although the belt was spinning properly which is weird.

Sort it out sir !

I've still probably got about 6 months on my T1R's and I'd rather try these out first before stumping up cash to buy rota grids in a larger size.

Re: Kuhmo Ecsta V70A

What did you think of the Kuhmo Ecsta V70A ?

edit:
i'm going to try these out on stock 15" wheels soon.
Tyre wall flex from T1R's isn't nice, although I know there will be some flex anyway.

Without a single doubt, BC2 for multiplayer beats everything else by a long shot, I've still got to download the Vietnam pack for it.
But this BF3 isn't BC3 is it ? (hah)

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Battery problem or something else ? (electrics just cut out)

Literally about to go out there now and have a sniff about. I've had to adjust it before (incorrect bolts were put on it), and then earlier in the year 3S also adjusted, and tightened it back up for me whilst doing some other bits :thumleft: (so shouldn't be a slack belt). I don't think I have a mul...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Battery problem or something else ? (electrics just cut out)

Sounds like the alternator has failed, or there is a wire that comes off of the alternator that can sometimes burn out (I think!). There are a good few threads on this, have a search. Cheers, I'll have a sniff about but I was starting to think it was likely to be the alternator. Not much I can do a...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Battery problem or something else ? (electrics just cut out)

Sorry to reply again but have to work this out ASAP ! Battery charged, and installed, lights have come on the dash after firing it up once, I'll try it again later perhaps but think it's going to have to be down at 3S: Discharge Warning Light Cat High Temperature Warning Light (not sure why it's on,...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Battery problem or something else ? (electrics just cut out)

Well I've got the battery charging now, but I can only guess that it's either the alternator or the battery ?
I've got to drive up to Birmingham tomorrow morning from Guildford, I'll have the charger with me but I seriously hope it lasts ](*,)

[Mk2] [NA] Battery problem or something else ? (electrics just cut out)

Just driving back home, and about a mile or so away from home I noticed my lights weren't working in the cabin, then the rev & speed gauge weren't. They were fluttering, and just as I was pulling up the power steering had gone. My first though is the battery is flat or one of the terminal connec...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Where to buy wheels from ?

Cheers, I'll go with Rota Grid's anyway, works very nicely with the shape of our cars. Although I probably cannot do this until late in the year but good to do homework right ?
