Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Twangy clunk sound - from front ARB possibly
I dont think it's my bezel cup/top mount purely because it's pretty newish BC Racing coilovers. It could be over tightened I guess. And the springs were always able to rotate a bit when trying to turn it with your hand, so I didn't have any pre-load and WIM didn't add any pre-load tension either. Is...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Twangy clunk sound - from front ARB possibly
Just jacked the car up, and took the front right wheel off (as this is the side it really sounds like it's coming from). Nothing out of place, everything felt tight. I also think it makes the noise as I'm turning and going over or down a gradient, it hasn't made a noise going over dips in the road o...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Twangy clunk sound - from front ARB possibly
I'll definitely look at that, which reminds me. We did notice that the camber is different on either side at the front, and since Wheels in Motion did it, I know they did it properly so would be equal both sides. I wonder if the dodgy roads have loosened it in that case. Time to get the tools out (w...

[Mk2] [Generic] Twangy clunk sound - from front ARB possibly
Hey guys, I've had a pair of (new) whiteline's antirollbars fitted to my car about a year ago, initially the rear made a similar sound but the front was fine. When we inspected the rear it was due to the wrong droplinks, so every now and then it would rub against the inner-wheel arch. However, about...

[Mk2] [NA] Replacing dash bulbs ?
The right hand side of my dashboard isn't lighting up any more. So I presume it's just a bulb that'll need to get swapped out.
My obvious question is, how much of a b1tch is it going to be ?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] BC Racing Coilovers (BR series) - spring rate question
Makes sense- you've got your dampers set too hard which is not letting the springs do their job absorbing bumps at high speed. Front and Rear is set to the dampers softest setting, not the hardest. Having had the same problem, albeit on different dampers, i found having the rears on the hardest set...

Re: front end lift....?
I can vouch for Wheels In Motion. :thumleft: Just explain what it is you tend to use your car for (road/track etc), and they'll adjust it accordingly. If you aren't happy they will adjust it until you are :) Obviously lots of handy replies here, and just to add a couple more things. I found that aft...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] BC Racing Coilovers (BR series) - spring rate question
Double doh. #-o So you actually prefer the harder springs ? Perhaps it's the rebound which we can't control that is causing the problem. Do you know what settings you are using now for the dampers ? 0 = hard 30 = soft Both of my ones are set to 30 but I find on bumpy dual carriageway, as my speed in...

Cant think of any parts needed but I'd be looking at a new clutch and light flywheel if I were taking the box off.
Hmm, the clutch is about 2 years old, so should be ok for now but a lightened flywheel could be handy.

Wish there was an off the shelf solution, all of the threads I've looked at in the past seemed to suggest it's a fabrication only job.

I'll put up a post in the wanted section but I need to take the car to James at jdmodified to see what they think requires replacing (I've no idea apart from the rad).

Re: [Mk2] [NA] LSD worthwhile purchase ?
Thanks for bringing this point up, something I hadn't even considered. I guess if you're coughing up just over £500 on a part (plus fitting), it's probably worth having an extended warranty. As I mentioned before, are there any other parts I'd need, or is this something that is a direct replacement/...

Many thanks for replying, I'll be hugely interested in what your using at the moment
Perhaps if you aren't too far away from me, I could head up to you at some point and see what the difference is like.

[Mk2] [NA] BC Racing Coilovers (BR series) - spring rate question
Hey guys, I just wondered if anyone out there has the BR series on their car with the softer spring rates ? Front Spring Rate : 4kg/mm Rear Spring Rate : 6kg/mm How are you finding them on the cruddy roads ? I think I have the harder springs rated at: Front Spring Rate : 5kg/mm (224lbs/in) Rear Spri...

[Mk2] [NA] LSD worthwhile purchase ?
I do this every so often, just have a look at some potential parts to fit but I was always curious about retrofitting an LSD onto my car. These are two which I've found: http://www.fensport.co.uk/Parts/Model_26/Category_3/1370 http://quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qdf15e-0 However, I've no idea what the...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Air conditioner radiator - where from ?
Cheers Chris, my one was working fine about a year or so ago and I thought perhaps it just needed refilling but looking at the physical state of the rad itself, no wonder it's not really working

[Mk2] [NA] Air conditioner radiator - where from ?
Hey guys,
My air conditioner radiator is totally fooked, looks like it's just been protecting the radiator behind it
So I think I'd like to replace it and get it working again, any idea as to where I can pick one up from ?
