Re: [Mk2] [NA] 96 rev3 High idle tickover
Could try swapping the water temp sensor (the one for the ecu) if it's not working then the ecu may think the car's cold all the time and be compensating with high revs . Otherwise you could need to clean the isc valve as it may be sticking open . This is what has been suggested to me by James at T...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 96 rev3 High idle tickover
I know you had no codes, but maybe try resetting ECU? I also did that, and it runs like a dream now. My post about it is on this section of the forum somewhere. Anyway, if you go to mr2oc.co.uk, then onto the know your 2 section, (you have to be a member) it will tell you how to reset it mate. All ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Replacement hoses ?
Fair point !
I'm thinking about the hoses in the engine bay to do with air.

[Mk2] [NA] Replacement hoses ?
Hey guys, just wondering what options we have for replacing the hoses on a standard rev 3 n/a ?
Possible to buy a kit or best to purchase a complete original set ?
Nothing has broken, I just wanted to replace them for piece of mind (& don't care about colour, black is better though).

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 96 rev3 High idle tickover
No faults, was continuously flashing.
It hasn't done it this weekend yet, and it's kept dry in underground car park as well, so moisture shouldn't be an issue with it.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 96 rev3 High idle tickover
Cheers Dave,
I shall go and do that now
(worryingly on the motorway home on Friday I heard some metallic clunks hitting the road - car feels fine, wonder if I hit something or car on the otherside dropped bits! )

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 96 rev3 High idle tickover
I'm still getting the high rev's at idle once hot.
It does EXACTLY the same thing each time.
Come to a stop, clutch pressed to drop into N, the idle hunts twice, then settles at 1800rpm, after a while it drops to 1200rpm and feels like the air/fuel mix is okish again.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Coilovers Spring rate???
Sorry for bumping a very old thread but may as well. Same situation, same suspension. What spring rates do people prefer for occasional road use (not for work, just fun) and occasional track use ? I've noticed the BC Racing (not to be confused with Buddy Club - although completely identical in desig...

Re: FINALLY - 720 BHP / 565 LB-FT
Absolutely fantastic ! For yourself choosing to do such a thing, and for all of the work involved from various people and companies, excellent achievement ! :thumleft: This should be sold as a package. Also, from what I could see, it looks like the body work is largely stock or only lightly changed?...

I used the yellows at Silverstone GP, I thought they were pretty good. My friend who races 997 cup cars also took it out, no complaints (except for power ).

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 96 rev3 High idle tickover
Did the spray thing when I started the car, nothing.
Did it after a quick warm up (but the engine hadn't started doing it's hunting yet), and still no rev raise or change.
So will go out until it starts rev-hunting at idle, then see if anything has changed.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 96 rev3 High idle tickover
get some easy start and spray around all inlet and vac control pipes throttle body with the engine running if the revs increase the leak is where you have just sprayed or are spraying. hope this helps  Thank you soo much ! I shall try in the morning, I'm fairly sure it's an air leak because...

Cheers.
My one looked clean, gave it a wipe up anyway.
So now I'm thinking perhaps hose leak somewhere?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Alternator PIVOT bolt - Urgent !
Thought I'd go to b&q, grab a couple of 100mm bolts. They go through the first hole in the bracket, and the alternator but then the last hole appears to be threaded, and obviously the thread on the bolts don't fit. Nothing Ever Simple #-o ](*,) ](*,) Pray that James at ToyotaGT can help me.

Does anyone have a photo/dimensions of the alternator pivot bolt ? (I could get a temp fix bolt from homebase/halfords/b&q if I have dimensions of it. Is there just a nut and washer on the end of it ? Think it's this one: 90105-10249 http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_1994_T ... _1903.html My car'...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What steering wheel size??? Pics welcome.....
I'm after a suede wheel, with use on track days, bit of drifting. I'm about 6ft, and currently find the one in the car (nardo) a bit painful on my wrists when my hands are locked in position for track work. Feels like I'm over stretching perhaps ? Any suggestions ? I was thinking along the lines of:...
