Hmm, I just fired up the car and it was ok. Reluctant to start and a bit of a low idle. So I'm not sure quite what is causing that as it's fine normally, perhaps the sea air it's not used to.

I know some things it'll just make sense to do in one go but not always possible

We gave it a little pre-load on the spring collars, it seems to have solved the sound. The springs weren't in good condition surprisingly (I had washed them every so often during the winter), so perhaps some softer ones is the right way to go now. It definitely sounds like a spring, or the ARB though.

I bought new discs and yellow stuff pads (again), excellent combination for me in the n/a at least. (have braided lines and motul RBF600 fluid) The biggest difference was the new discs, there was a noticeable lip on the old discs, so the pads were having to travel further.
