Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Electronic Speed Sensor - compatibility between NA and Turbo?
The connector looks the same between the NA and Turbo versions, it's held on with 3 screws so you may be able to disassemble them both and make a working Turbo one?

Re: Cam belt failure engine damage?
I've had a cam belt failure on a V6 3VZ-FE, same as you water sump seized. No damage but getting the crank and cams all lined up was a pain. It sounds like you've got the cam timing wrong if all cylinders have low compression. Did you check for TDC on cylinder 1? You could be 180 degrees out as cran...

I've used Barr-Tech on the north side of Cambridge for many years. Never had any problems with emissions rules.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Parts Suppliers
I had pretty crap service from Bigg Red a couple of years ago. It took 6 weeks to get all 4 calipers refurbished and coated. When I finally received them the finish on the coating wasn't great in a few places. A few chips in the coating for good measure as well. 2 years & 2000 miles later, the h...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What AFR does a stock Rev 3 run at (Idle/Cruis/WOT)
Could be due to the fuel pump resistor not being used, or it could be that the 264 cams are pushing the volumetric efficiency at idle so far out that the ECU can't compensate.
If you raise the idle a bit do the AFRs go to 14.7:1?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What AFR does a stock Rev 3 run at (Idle/Cruis/WOT)
Warm Idle AFR should on average be 14.7:1, it will oscillate around from 14.3:1 to 15.0:1 due to feedback from O2 sensor. Cold Start Idle AFR can be anywhere from 10:1 to 14.1 depending on coolant temp. Cruise/part throttle should be around 14.7:1. Again it will be oscillating due to O2 sensor feedb...

Re: Forgive stupid question. Does the sump differ between turbo and non-turbo?
Rev 3+ has the same lower sump on turbo and JDM non-turbo cars, part no. 12102-88460
UK non-turbo cars had a different part for some reason, part no. 12102-88461

I seem to remember the heater does that if the internal temp sensor become disconnected.

Did you get them working? You PM'ed me on TwoBrutal 5 years ago asking for help to get them working but you never replied to my message.

Danbob wrote:So what is the purpose of the PSCT pin then?
The ECU pulls PSCT to ground to disable the power steering. I have a ST205 ECU so I can't test, but from memory it does that when starting to reduce the load on the battery.

Do you mean knock sensor error 52? That happens when the knock sensor is broken, the wiring or ECU is faulty.

I heated up the chargecooler pipes and twisted them round 15 degrees, so they were parallel to the coolant pipe.

55708-17010 is the normal cowl used in UK and Japan.
55708-17040 is for cold climates, it has an extra mesh on the underside.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fuel cut defender
No, a fuel cut defender fiddles with the MAP sensor voltage. On a Rev 2 that's fine as the MAP sensor is only used to drive the stock boost gauge and for fuel cut. On a Rev 3 the MAP sensor is the primary sensor used to determine fueling, fiddling with that is very dangerous. Using fuel cut defender...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clock-->boost gauge?
What about a Raspberry Pi? It would be quite hard to get sub microsecond accuracy on ignition timing on something that's running an OS. Removing the OS and programming the board bare metal would be a massive undertaking, especially since Broadcom haven't AFAIK released all the chip documentation. A...

you're the guy that developed the daughter board for the stock ECU aren't you? Yep, thats me. what do you think of the feasibility of using an Arduino (or similar?) to add functionality to the PFC? primarily USB datalogging and knock control? I don't think the standard Arduino is powerful enough to...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clock-->boost gauge?
There was a multi function display made by Dynosty in the US that replaced the standard clock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6wfjccHXOg They don't make them anymore, but they did say they'd consider making another batch if 10 people pay upfront. http://www.mr2oc.com/32-mr2oc-authorized-vendor-gro...
