Re: [Mk2] [NA] Non starter
The amount of fuel required to start the car is tiny, even if the fuel pump was on it's way out it should still start the car. Crank the car for a few seconds and then pull the plugs, if they're dry then the pump is not working at all, if they're wet then there is enough fuel to start the car and th...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Does anyone currently have Polyurethane Bushes fitted to their front tension Rod
That's interesting, what brand of bush were they? One piece type or two piece type? How are you finding the Spherical bearing rods? Do you use the car on the road? They were Prothane bushes, 2 piece type if I remember correctly. The spherical bearing rods are great, I didn't notice any more vibrati...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Does anyone currently have Polyurethane Bushes fitted to their front tension Rod
When I replaced my polybushed tension rods with Tein adjustable tension rods, I noticed one of the polybushes had started to split.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The polybushes had only been on the car for a few weeks, most of that time that car was up on axle stands.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Stupid starter motor
The contacts are made of copper and wear unevenly causing intermittent contact:

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Stupid starter motor
The internal solenoid contacts are probably worn, replacements can be bought from Toyota quite cheaply.
10 minute job to replace them once the starter motor is off the car.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

It's probably worn copper contacts in the starter motor solenoid.
Easy to replace once you've got the starter motor out.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: Best time to have wheel alignment
A few years a go I did a complete suspension overhaul with new shocks, springs, ball joints etc. After all the work it still drove fine, tyre wear was still even so I didn't bother with a 4 wheel alignment. Last year I fitted polybushes, afterwards the car handling was terrible so I finally got arou...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power steering and tacho feeds from ECU
So on the power stearing I need to earth the PSCT when the IGN is off and open it when the its on at the MOTEC ecu? If possible configure the MOTEC ECU to pull PSCT to GND when the RPM is less than 500, that will prevent the PS pump running when IGN is on but the engine isn't running. Otherwise the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power steering and tacho feeds from ECU
ECU has been great the last 2 years as you can see here on Steves car. http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=158283&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Oh I didn't realise you were still using the modded ECU, cool :-) If I recall correctly that ECU had quite high rev and boost limit...
