Re: TRD kit

I have seen another member of the OC's several times and it is a real beauty. To me it makes the 2 look more modern but without taking away it's appeal. I would have one but at around £2k for a good kit without the spoiler, you have to be looking at another £1k for fitting and spraying, it has to be...

Re: polishing rear light cluster

LOL! Looking at the tube I used over the weekend, that's exactly the brand on the tube!! Haha, thata's a result, Max. :thumleft: As I understand , toothpaste has some very fine abrasive particles suspended in the paste which have to be very fine so as not to remove the enamel from your teeth....

Re: polishing rear light cluster

Toothpaste. I kid you not. Not gel but the actual paste - ideally with some of the small particle bits in it. Works wonders. Quicker than T-cut, plus leaves your lights smelling minty fresh!! I then follow this up with a quick wipe of plastic polish then wax, but really a couple of applications of ...

Re: Running a MR2 in the winter

Don't use Vaseline it's Petroleum based and as mentioned will destroy the rubber seals, don't use warm water as this can crack the glass as well as freeze on the rubber causing problems. A simple option is to get some dubbing [a clear water based wax for sealing and moisturising leather] clean the r...

Re: Hel braided brake lines

A pair of brackets and bolts to fit the OEM holes would cost pennys, poor show from HEL really. I agree that the kit should come complete but it looks as if some creative engineering is needed. Can you give us an idea of what brackets and fixings are required. I would much rather have the parts to ...

Re: Wind/rain causing car issues

If it happens again Gary, undo the jubilee clip, remove the filter cone and then start her up. If the filter was choked of air because it was wet then this should prove it and it'll start [near enough] straight away. If it takes a few goes then it's likely to be the ignition. My money is on the igni...

Re: tin top vs. moonroof - chassis stiffness and weight

is the tin top noticeably stiffer or not, i appreciate if i were to swap the stuff over to a tin tin top shell its a lot of work so is it worth it? Jason, according to Terry Heick's book the sunroof version is stiffer than the tin top as the reinforcing struts and additional crossmembers in the roo...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] are my mirrors retractable?

It says on your avatar that you are running a rev 2 turbo. As all tubbys are imports it should be fitted with most of the kit.

As Brookesy said get in and have a look, you may find it is a simple switch or fuse blown.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Dashboard lights

Hi Mickey, Reasonably simple will take an hour or so first time. Remove gear gaiter shroud and then the black plastic plate around it. Remove the ashtray and undo the 2 exposed screws in the ashtray space. Remove the centre panel of the dash [where the vents, radio and heater controls sit] be carefu...
