I take the glass out at the beginning of summer and clean the rubbers then treat with Dubbin [a leather treatment type wax- non petroleum based]. I then do this at the end of summer to keep the rubbers flexible and stop them drying and cracking.

Since I had the car, it's been dry as a bone.

The arches can also be flared to give extra clearance but it will stretch the panel and there are limitations.
