Re: Mica blue Mk1 with IMOC sticker, Staining ( near Blackpool )

Ooh, might have been me. I'm currently staying with a mate in Warton, then i'm off to Liverpool later today.

What sort of IMOC sticker was it? Mines a small one on the black center panel on the back, just says "Member of IMOC.co.uk"

Front Droplinks

Can anyone tell me how long the front droplinks should be? I recently made up a set of droplinks based on the length of the ones that were fitted but on driving the car I noticed that something didn't feel right. Had the car up on stands over the weekend and had a poke around to discover that the AR...

Re: Can door pins be replaced?

A common fix is to unbolt the lower hinge from the car body and then refit with a couple of washers between it and the body.

Saw some on eBay last week, they had 2 different types at £12.99. Can't look for them now though as eBay is blocked at work.

bah, would have been useful to me but I've just been and checked my spares car and the bumper on that doesn't look too good (bit of rust around one of the towing eye mounts).

They're talking rubbish. The larger clutch (212mm) was fitted to later cars.

Fensport stock both sizes.

Re: rust and mots

Anti-roll bar mounts and anything that's too near to a suspension pick-up point. (leading edge of the rear arches where the front of the trailing arm mounts is a common area for this to be a problem.)

Re: Suspension Swap

For those like me without a vice I used the following technique to remove the gland nuts from the shock assemblies: Remove shock assembly as described in all the guides etc. Remove topmount and spring (pretty easy without a vice if you crack off the nut whilst the assembly is still on the car) Tempo...

Re: Wheres my ariel?

On my mk1a the aerial is on the top of the 'A' pillar on the drivers side. When retracted it runs down inside of the pillar itself. On my mk1b it is in the 'usual' place on the rear wing.

As you'd literally just bought the car then I can't see anyway that they can get away with giving you anything other than the price you bought it for.

Re: The new mot!

We have just gone onto it, 8 session per-bay-per-day. £45 test and £25 retest - PROPER CON! On that basis garages may be less interested in doing retests as takes up one of their slots but earns them less revenue - effectively costing then £20 a time. This could have the knock on effect of some of ...

Re: Gearbox rebuild options and costs?

I'd also be interested in knowing the costs involved. I know it's normally said that it's cheaper to get a low mileage box through an importater or something than it is to get a worn box refurbed but I'd assume that labour is a large part of that. Personally I currently have 3 gearboxes in total, no...

Not seen any of the names in this thread before? Are you all aware of the regular norwich MR2 meets?

Next one is 8th Jan in the "Pets at Home" car park on Hall road at 12. We usually hang around for 1/2 hour or so before going for a drive to a pub somewhere. Any of you fancy coming along?

Re: Problem logging in with Firefox 1.5

I've been having issues with the 'remember me' log in option on a couple of vbulletin forums (including this one) when using firefox.

Deleting all cookies (Using Tools>Options>Privacy>Cookies>View Cookies) relating to the site in question fixed the problem for me. Might be worth a try.

Re: PIC WANTED

Is your car an a or a b? I'm pretty sure I've got a spare pair of mk1b brackets lying about somewhere.

/EDIT - just found them and checked the part numbers against the EPC and it looks like they're mk1a brackets.
