Re: MR2 Village - IMOC & MR2Mk1 Club, winners of Best Club Stand 2010 !

What a great weekend; I really enjoyed my first JAE! Great meeting a lot of new faces from IMOC and I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of you again in the future! A great result on getting the best stand in show as well! The German/Austrian element just added to the fun of the weekend! Just setting off n...

How does the external visual state of an engine in any way show how well maintained it is?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Standard clutch limitations?

Hi all, My current clutch has started to slip at higher boost levels ( >.8 ) and I was just wondering whether I'd be okay to run a standard exedy clutch (unsure of what is currently in there) on my rev2 engined Mk1.5 with the following mods: Boost @ 1 bar CT26 Hybrid ST205 Chargecooler I don't take ...

Red & Black Mk2's near Elvington (TOTB?) Sunday

Spotted these two just behind me on the A64 and then coming off onto the A1079 roundabout and heading off towards TOTB.

I was in the black Mk1.5 :)

Re: URGENT!! Key Barrel Removal!

As Mulaz says why didn't you just remove the barrel? It's a 2 minute job.

Remove the cowling around the steering column then there's a pin on top of the barrel. Press this in and you can pull the barrel out with the key (or what's left of it) one turn around.

Re: [FINALIZED] TOYOTA MR2 - AW11, Mark 1A - 1985 - In Good Condition

I must admit I was surprised it didn't go higher than that. eBay is a fickle place indeed! It's worth £1200 of anyone's money easily with it being a tidy 1a with provable history. To be honest I don't think you did much wrong in the description either... weird indeed! Keep us updated on what you pla...

If you can wait until Friday, the missus is back from being away with work. PM me the link and I'll ask her. I've got a few other Japanese friends that I could get in touch with also if you needed it sooner.

HTH.

Re: [FINALIZED] My car on Ebay....Rev 3 Turbo.

Just spotted this on the bay Chris, then saw this post.

It's Tom with the black Mk1.5; we chatted at the Hull motor show.

This car really is a few notches above the rest.

Good luck with the sale. :thumleft:

Re: How good are the plasma boost gauges

I've got some of these (Boost, oil temp, water temp). As redmoose mentioned they may not have a super fast response rate but we're talking milliseconds. (Although I've not had any other gauges, just using my perception) Only slight negative for me is the narrow viewing angle, but this can be overcom...

Re: rev 2 ct26 turbo problem {help}

Check your main engine earth, I had this problem the other month on my Mk1.5 after heavy rain. I replaced all silicone hoses, all vacuum pipes, new jubilee clips, tried bypassing the boost controller and nearly took off the turbo to replace the actuator. Then... noticed the earth looked a bit manky ...

Black MK2 A1079 York > Hull

Spotted limping home with what looked like some of your exhaust hanging off. Hope you got back okay! (Presumed you were okay as you didn't stop at the petrol station we passed)

Speak up if you're on here.

Re: Stupid number plate question

Just doesnt seem right and surely is against the VOSA requirement for a number plate to be as near as possible vertical?? Where did you read/get told this? AFAIK there is no documentation or rules covering the angle at which a number plate has to be displayed. It only has to be 'legible' and obviou...
