Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] drivers side steering foglight not steering

Thread resurrection! Of late, I have mostly been modifying stuff that works instead of repairing stuff that doesn't. The drivers steering fog is still bugging me. Today I found some time to take them both out and have a look. I randomly checked the resistance across the steering moto...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] re: Stage 2 Hybrid CT26 spool

No problem mate, happy to help.

I switched my ct26 for a ct20b after the old one started dropping oil down the exhaust.
I fitted a BERK downpipe at the same time and honestly, I can't recommend these enough.
Build quality is fantastic and the presence of a flexi means no cracks.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] re: Stage 2 Hybrid CT26 spool

Hi mate I've just been out and measured my old ct26 that's on the garage floor, seems to be 41mm inducer diameter and around 51mm exhaust, the same as yours. I know mine is standard, and I have to say that imo, yours looks to be standard as well. Mines also a rev2, and dies, howevrr, have a differen...

Honestly, fit a fuel cut defencer and a manual boost controller and you'll be good to go.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] drivers side steering foglight not steering

Maybe a previous owner didnt know either and had to replace it and put the wrong one in? Nah, I had a fight with both of them before to get them out and put some decent bulbs in. I'm hoping the connectors are the same so I can swap left to right just to see if the problem moves with the fog. Cheers

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] apears to be fuel cut??? HELP PLEASE IM LOST

Yes, so you need a boost controller instead, and a fcd to raise the fuel cut.

I know the ct27 is bigger than the ct20, maybe its the rate at which it spools that is causing the error code?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] drivers side steering foglight not steering

Has it always been like that or something that has recently stopped working? Errr, tough one that! I only noticed I had them 3 years into my 5 year ownership. For some reason I had the switch the opposite way to normal while I backed it into the garage one night, what's that? I have 1 steering fog!...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] apears to be fuel cut??? HELP PLEASE IM LOST

Im not sure if that disables fuel cut or not, possibly. You may have the code present for over boosting when it was connected, and presuming you reset the ecu before disconnecting the map sensor, you may have the code again just because its unplugged. Either way, the ecu is not happy with the amoun...

[Mk2] [Turbo] drivers side steering foglight not steering

Morning all My steering fog on my drivers side is not operating with the steering. Passenger side is fine. These are obviously pointless, but you know how it is, you want everything to work as it should. Can these be tested once removed? Or can it only be the motor at fault as they are powered by th...

The map sensor from the intake manifold

Why, and was it unplugged before you switched the turbo?
