Cleaning under engine lid

Since i've had my 2, when i wash and wax it, the engine bay cover (underneath the vents) seems inaccessible and just looks a sh1tty shade of red, anyone have any tips to getting at it to clean or removing it(it looks welded or riveted on)?

Thanks

Lol at that one, no actual damage on that, just a major headache for the owner. I bet some git could still do ya for criminal damage! Must remember that next time the owner isnt available to thump.

Damn, hard luck mate. Know exactly how u feel. On a nicer point, its pleasant to see someone else on here from Walsall! Try Rogue or Fensport, they might be able to help u out!

Hi,the only thing i could suggest is u take one of the bolts(if u can get another one off!) to one of those hardware stores, and they match it up for ya?

Re: wtf! Wheels stuck to hub :(

When u actually get the wheels off, a good tip would be to sand the edge of the alloy that meets the hub very slightly, this will prevent future problems.

Re: ECU error codes.. car won't start !! help..

Hi Jim, i had error code 14 too, after replacing the dizzy, coil, ignitor and countless hours spent messing around cutting wires to and from ECU etc, it turned out to be a dodgy ECU. Code 14 is the ignition signal to and from ECU if im correct.

Wheel Bearings

Ok, when i got my car back from MR T, they told me the wheel bearings on the one side (front and back) are going to need replacing, can anyone tell me where the best place to get em from, how much and a likely price from a local garage to fit em. Or, can i do em myself?

Thanks

I think what Pete meant was, if u fiddled about with it and got it to open earlier, u may end losing power futher down(not to mention emptying your petrol tank)
