Re: Wiring head scratcher.

Its a good mod. I could'nt decide weather to do mine independantly or not.
I got so caught up in the "why don't they work together" thing that I just went all out to find a way to MAKE them work together. So thats what happened. I'm still not sure which way I prefer it.

Looks good mate. I looked at doing white but I didnt want people seeing any dirt I had left there. The blue seems to cover up the dirt. Lucky me eh?

Re: quick aerial fitting question

Sounds like an electrical interferance rather than a signal problem. Say, some sort of unsupressed electical add on.

Re: Nice Red Mk1

What a beutiful set of pictures. They really show the best of the car and that must be the deepest shiney red MR2 I've ever seen. It really does make a change to see a listing with pictures that look like someone has thought about them and taken the time to let a bidder see what they're bidding for....

Re: Hi new owner

Welcome Dan,
Looks OK from your garage piccy. No rust evident on the front wing which is a good start. Looks like you may have bagged a bargain.
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Some of us are quite friendly.
Cheers,
Bod. (James)

Re: Wiring head scratcher.

That would work but thats quite a job when you just have to remove the panel next to the seat and there you will find the interior light switch and wire that you can splice in to. Thats what I did and then ran the along the sill panel to the foot well. You can find your +feed in the fuse box in the ...

Re: Wiring head scratcher.

Hi Jimi, I wired the o/s light with the earth soldered in the wire that comes off the door switch and the live from a permanent live that powers my amp. The n/s is the same except that live is on to a permanent live that I found coming through the bulkhead grommet behind the passenger seat. Today I ...

Thats Jinxy's car. He used to be a big name on here and on the Mk1 club site but he's not been on here for a while now. You will still find alot of he's sticky's on here as he is a bit of a guru on the Mk1. La Roux loved 80's car and asked for one in her video and the director asked the Mk1 club for...

Re: Wiring head scratcher.

Thanks for that matey. I thought that could be the only solution really. I think I'll just leave it as is. I did think about linking the two switches together so that they worked as one i.e both earthed from one door for the foot lights and the alarm but I did'nt know what damage that might do to th...

Wiring head scratcher.

Hi Gang, I was puting some footwell lights into the 2 yesterday and found that the door switches seem to work independantly of each other. In that I mean on previous cars I've had, when you wire in, say an alarm to a door switch that when you open any door the alarm is activated therefore the whole ...

Re: Headlight controller modification - 800x600 photo heavy

OK, I did the mod on the left cap as my supplier only had 1. It didn't seem to make that much difference so I'll have to do the other 1 anthor day. It was certainly not as quick as in the video. Oh well :( Same problem over here, I also replaced just one capacitor and it don't seem to speed up the ...

Re: Bah, another one with a rust issue.

I used these panels and although a little pricyer (if thats a word) they fitted almost exactly. I was well pleased with them. I think alot of MR2ers have used these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-MR2-MK1-REAR-WHEEL-ARCH-REPAIR-PANELS-/230684654318?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=ite...

Re: Headlight controller modification - 800x600 photo heavy

Hi Boyzdad, Bit of a thread revieval. I have bought my 10uf caps to do next week on a weeks hols. My question is, do the caps have a polarity as one leg is longer than the other. I know on LED's this makes a difference and just wondered if these were the same or can they just be put in either way ro...

Re: Look What Turned up at our Local Car Club

Sadly MM didn't come to the Dyno day as he was working. I went tho (as I organised it) and scored a very respectable 107.7 bhp which I was well happy with. Not bad for completely standard with 126800 mile on the clock.
