Re: ST185 DISCS

One other tip is to make sure you get every little bit from the donor ie caliper, carrier and pad clips, springs and shims. These little extras cost me more from Toyota than the calipers did from the breakers!

Re: ST185 DISCS

I've fitted a set under 15" wheels but others have had to go up in size. It all depends on the style and offset so only one way to be sure and that's a trial fit.

I've also got upgraded rear brakes so can't say how good a front only upgrade is.

Re: Can driving with no exhaust damage the engine?

There will be a reduction in charge scavenging (cylinder clearance) so a reduction in torque/power.

Re: mileage ok? plus... quite a day for my car!

You do know that the driving other car extension of your insurance only covers third party, don't you? Personally, I wouldn't risk lending or borrowing a friends car (without being a named driver on fully comp) as I can't see the friendship lasting after a large repair bill. Plus I bet it's quite di...

Also, the Police may class it as unroadworthy if you're spotted.

It'll cause damage to your ears!
The car will feel sluggish but I can't see how it'll do any damage.

I found it to be a waste of time as I have a syncromesh system fitted on my gearbox  Just blip the throttle while the clutch is down. :thumleft:

Re: Just ordered a full koni kit, any tips?? Now fitted.

I tried the nut splitting plan and it just doesn't work. I had to use a grinder to cut the drop link and then sheared every nut on the roll bar mounts. I now run the car without front or rear anti-roll bars.

Re: Clutch

If funds are tight you can have the spare one (cover and plate only) from my bits pile for the cost of postage. It has plenty of life in it and is only spare due to an engine rebuild that will include an uprated clutch.

Has anyone fitted a diff to their gearbox at home? What problems did you come across? How did you sort the shims/preload?

Sony XS-A827 speakers - Unused to fit mk1 rear

I bought a set of Sony XS-A827 speakers as they fit well. I removed my radio before they were put in for good so they are sat in my bits pile ](*,)
