Re: A hairy discovery
Thanks for the tips guys. I have used the aerosol stuff before actually to clean the air-con of bacteria / mould so that could have a double use. I'll give it a proper clean and hoover out as well...... At least I won't need to ring up GPR and ask them to help with my hairy helm

A hairy discovery
Well this year I thought I would be nice to the 2 and put it in storage for the winter in my dads garage. Since it was a nice day today I went to get the car out the garage and take a run.... Cue the discovery....... The interior is now hairy  It looks like while it has been in there white mou...

Re: Raybrig Headlights
First try getting some super bright bulbs. I went to Halfords and got the brightest ones you can legally drive on the road with (+60 or + 80%) which were one step down from the illegal rally light bulbs. It made a massive difference over the standard. Keep this thread updated if you find any though ...

Yep, go back to Halfords and pickup the Jap car wiper blade converter You then clip this to the wiper blades and the converter then attaches to the arm.

Sky insurance
Just had a quote from Sky. They beat Adrian Flux by £40 on an already cheap quote. It was on a modified mk1 and I wonder how many boxes he had left to tick Spoke to Jason. Very happy with the quote.
In comparison my old insurers took 10mins to answer the phone

Re: Project planning - advice please
Hmmm, I would start on the body work first. By the sounds of it the tin worm has been at the car a fair bit. Get the side skirts off and have a good look at the sills. Carpet up and look at the floor to see how far that rot goes. Get a hammer and bang around the front anti-roll bar mounting point. W...

Hmmm, do you have another insurance policy? Previously I rang up my normal insurance co and tagged it on there and they were fine. Dayinsure is now 23 as well

Red mk1 on the A1 near Grantham
Spotted you about 6pm yesterday around Grantham heading north on the A1. Car looked pretty good. Couldn't have a good look as I was heading south at the time.

Re: MK1 Supercharge
There is a buyers guide below. I'm still a relative n00b to mk1s compared to a lot on here but I will give it a go. http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/kb.php?mode=article&k=47 I've had my eye on this, but each time it comes up the price goes up! Auction 1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...

Kent Car Craft
I have been trying to get a garage to bleed my brakes as I didn't fancy doing it with my dad on the drive. After ringing around garages in Chelmsford and getting fobbed off due to having an "old" car..... I thought I would give KCC a try. Quite simply a cracking service and a good cuppa wa...

Re: Bumper BArs? 1A 1b diference?
Yep they are different. Memory serves it's to do with the location of the towing eyes that you can see the difference. They can't be interchanged.
The slam panels can be interchanged without issue though.

The a and b bumper bars are different. I would say £50 max for a mint bumper bar. Seen them go both above and below this on ebay.
Front bumper £20-30.

Aha, had a look at your garage pics and I think I saw you as well. Can't exactly remember but there was a blue one with a modified front end zoom past.

Four mk1s in a line heading to Lemans
Spotted four mk1s coming out of the toll booths on the way to Lemans. I think it was just after the tolls near Rouen. I was the guy in the blue Focus waving like a madman I volunteered to be support car rather than take my mk1

Re: Running without a bonnet?
Hmmm, about 50mile :/ Thinking about it more, it's probably van territory for that far. If it was 5 mile up the road I would just drive without Very tempted by the tape though
