Re: WTF happened??
Any news yet? Got compression test results? My mate said compression was fine across all cylinders and he had had it running, and cant find where the oil has come out of. He took it out for a spin, gave it some boost, still no oil and performing fine... Stupid car wants to make up its mind. Either ...

Re: Engine Rebuild costs (rev3 tubby)
Im tempted to just trade it against another car to be honest and let the dealer put it through auction.
Not gonna spend huge amounts sorting it. At worst ill just break it.

Re: Engine Rebuild costs (rev3 tubby)
Have you had the report back from the garage yet?? What did they say? If its just the rings that need replacing it will cost you about £100 for a new set of rings plus labour charges. If its a full engine rebuild you want (just engine block and cylinder head) your looking at about a grand but price...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] standard boost gauge and juddering issues
see ive never experienced a misfire so im not sure. but a mate has mentioned that as a way of describing it. it may not be going from max to no boost, it could be that for example only 1 cylinder is exploding. either way it physically shakes your body and the car quite violently maybe 4 times a sec...

Engine Rebuild costs (rev3 tubby)
My car might have blown its piston rings, so I thought I would explore my options if this is the case : http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=130570 Can anyone give me some help with what I the costs are to rebuild, either in the stock spec or other options for uprated bits? Could this be a c...

Re: WTF happened??
Sounds like your crankcase got pressurised. Hope not though because that doesn't bode well... What could have caused that? Piston rings. When they go they allow air to leak past the combustion chamber into the crank case and on turbo engines the ~1BAR of pressure you have from your turbo forces all...
