Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] turbo problems i think...have 2 fault codes!

25 means your O2 sensor is bu88ered 34 means you hit the fuel cut, which would explain the flat spot you hit. This code doesnt necesarily mean anything is wrong, just that you hit fuel cut. Replace your O2 sensor, reset the ECU, go for a drive then check your codes again. Yeah, fuel cut is more lik...

Re: Guaging interest - need advice quick

i dont KNOW for sure its a cracked head, but theres nothing else i can think it would be based on the symptoms. Is there a way of knowing for sure its a cracked head before i start having the engine ripped apart? Also, can anyone point me in the direction of a good company as close to ipswich (as i...

Maybe its also to do with the difference in temperature with the hot exhaust and a cold air? :-k

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 1.4 bar?

Yeah, I thought that might be what you were talking about. That's basically just installing a piggyback into the ECU, rather than remapping it. The map in the stock ECU stays static. :thumleft: Oh right, when you said piggyback I thought you meant something like Unichip or Emanage, something that f...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 1.4 bar?

You can't remap the stock ECU, it's read-only. However you can get 'piggyback' fuel controllers etc to take some work away from the ECU. Not strictly true, but there arent many people who will map them. Really? I've only ever seen modified stock ECUs that are mappable, ie SARD, MINES etc which actu...

Re: Cambelt question - possibly very noobish

The most important thing when buying any car really is a good service history. If this car has gone 14 yrs without a cambelt change I'd be worrying what else has been missed or scimped on. R. +1 But I believe the 3sGTE is a non interference engine, so if the cambelt does snap, pistons shouldnt hit ...

Aftermarket seats

Can anyone school me on aftermarkets seats and runner and subframes....??? I really like the Corbeau Boss sports recliners, they look like that have nice support but still comfortable for longer journeys on the road (I also fancy the comfort as I want some coilovers, so I know the ride will be hard)...

Yeah i think 3.0 is around 180lbs, which is loads less then a 3sgte with bolt ons.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Low Boost

Guys, so in short, your assessment is that the turbo isn't broken and that in some way, either temp or I haven't re-enabled the VSV properly the boost is being retarted. Just to be clear, boost should be around 0.9 bar standard? I do have another question,....If you disable the VSV, is the ECU stil...

Re: Highest powered standard turbo???

Ever noticed how the guys in the USA seem to get much higher figures on standard turbos than we do? But their 1/4 mile times and terminals are roughly the same? Dynos are good for seeing any differences before and after modifications, as long as you keep using the same one. When my car was relitivel...
