Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost Controller - over boosting

Chaps, I have installed a manual boost controller (boost tee). problem is it's overboosting, way over 1 bar no matter how i adjust it. I have blocked off the vsv valve and outlet from the wastegate actuator. Any suggestions? Also, Where is the connection underneath the car where you would electroni...

Re: MR2 turbo wont boost over 10psi? misfires

Well it cant be a rev3 turbo/actuator as the lowest boost you can run on a rev3 actuator is 13psi IIRC. With my boost controller off I get 8psi until about 5000rpm, then the boost creeps to between 10-11.5psi depending on how cold it is outside. Really i thought the rev3 actuator was 13psi? Maybe r...

De cat is just a straight through pipe to replace the cat. Because the decat is less restrictive you gain some power.

Smaller compressor wheel should give better spool but wont boost as high I think.

Might just be due to dizzy cap or leads being wet. higher boost always seem to show up any weakness in the ignition.

Target is more comfort Rob, not being held in the seat better :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Removing the CT26 Rev2 and replacing the CT20b turbo rev3

easier to remove the turbo connected to the manifold....ive even had it out with manifold and downpipe attached (tho it was a decat pipe, not stock downpipe)... i asume your running a downpipe, or at least got one to put on? no point swapping turbos then finding out you want to ditch the CAT and ne...

Re: Guaging interest - need advice quick

sorry for thread hijack but I would really like to know the outcome of this. I just bought a GT4 off a bloke and its now in the garage because the temps went sky high. According to him everything is fine on the way down. There's loads of steam coming from the plastic tube thingy attached to the rad...

Re: MR2 newbie - List your top 3 MR2 owning tips!

Misfires! Check all the ignition components. Magnacore leads are crap. check plug gaps. Dont forget the coils and ignitors are quite old now if they are the ones from when the car was new.

Also, water drips on the dizzy cap.

Re: Aftermarket seats

Not many manufacturers ever catered for the SW20 because it doesn't have a flat floor like most cars. You pay through the nose if you do ever find the correct mounting brackets (FIA approved brackets are a fixed standard aren't they? don't know if they allow adjustment though) from the manufacturer...

Re: mk2 turbo - Gutted !!!

Sounds like you hit fuel cut. Perhaps your actuator is broken or the wastegate is stuck preventing it from limiting the boost.

You definatly dont have any sort of boost controller fitted?

Re: Aftermarket seats

How tall are you? Nearly all aftermarket seats sit higher than the stock position in my experience. They have all been bottom mount though, not sure if side mount would suffer from that. Only 5'10. I just really want some more comfortable but more supportive seats, that can still be adjusted. Seems...
