Thanks for that guys.....just for the record, the halfrauds one's have the wrong adaptor so don't fit (found that out today!), so it's off to kwikfit tomoz.....

It's an electric pump... they are known to make a whine, especially loud if the stereo isn't wired correctly. Have you the standard stereo, and is it more audible when the stereo is on?
