Well after 3 years of tubby ownership, i've finally had to let her go  Just thought i'd say a massive thanks to anyone who's helped me out in the past with stuff, i don't know where i'd have been without you guys, especially Peter at sBits (sorry for the early morning wake up calls and all 8-[...
Pretty much all the stuff from sBits is OEm quality if not better so there should be no worries there. I've used cheapie ones before and they work just fine TBH so it's really up to you! I can't understand why the place did a full alignment check on your car though and didn't check for play in the w...
Well seems to me if it was better before you had the tracking done then surely you are quite within your rights to take it back and get em to check it again. I've had to do it a couple of times with my gf's car as the first guy that did it set it so it was practically undriveable round left hand cor...
ALright mate, it depends how low you're dropping it by, if they can't get the gauges onto the wheel cos it's sat in the arch then you won't be able to have it done! Best thing to do would be to speak to Peter at sBits in barnsley as you'll probably find the camber will be out too. he can sort that a...
Alright mate, it now has a stock front bumper on it with rev3 lip, not the Bomex as pictured. I'll get some more pics for ya as soon as i can of the interior and exterior. TBH mate you'll not get one with lower mileage for that sort of money, you'll need to spend at least 3k to get a significantly b...
Sounds like a bit of grease on that plug, shouldn't hurt anything. Check the wiring to the plug on the alternator mate, sounds exactly like what my old car did! Turned out to be a corroded wire in the circuit between the fusebox and the alternator. Test the voltage on each pin of the plug, they shou...
Could be gearbox mate, input shaft bearings make that kind of noise about 2-3k stood still!
the advise i've been given is don't worry about it but it doesn't sound too healthy! Try putting some Redline gearbox oil in and see if that quietens it down a bit
Steve
Sounds like something else TBH mate, you can make full boost below 6k and hit fuel cut and, like others have said, it's like having the brakes stamped on! Sounds more like a timing/fuelling problem. When you say it cuts the revs down, do you mean it loses boost pressure or do the revs actually drop?...
You'll need a garage to press it out mate, my local Mr T only charged me £20 to press out and re-fit mine, might be worth a go
Even if you do get the old one out you'll probably damage the new one putting it back in!
Steve
Hi matey, im very interested, just to confirm where abouts are you based? if the car is still available just after the new year i'll take a trip up and have a look if thats cool? Ross :thumleft: I'm in Rotherham in South Yorkshire mate, i imagine it'll still be there after the new year so you're mo...
Easiest way to eliminate the recirc pipe is to remove it completely!
Just bung up the pipe on the intake and let the dump valve VTA. You should now have no honking/farting noises
Steve
I won't tell you how much it costs me for insurance cos you'd kill me!! It's less than £500 put it that way
Still not tested as of yet, bloody lambda sensor playing up now but should hopefully be sorted by the end of the week. All other bits were ok
