Re: optimax vs normal stuff
I've just bought my car and was curious to see what difference Optimax made to my usual Esso Super unleaded and i found it seemed to use more fuel with Optimax but with no noticeable difference in performance, so i've been sticking to Esso stuff-seems to work well! Plus my nearest Shell garage is ab...

Re: Is it just road noise?
Might be a long shot but have you checked your gearbox oil level? If that's low it can make the box a bit noisier than it shoud be.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: where can i find a radio fascia apapter for my mr2
Fraid not mate, it's not on the web it's an Autoleads product and it's a universal fascia adapter that adds on to the bottom instaed of making the hole smaller.
Any car spares shop should be able to get hold of them.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: Is it just road noise?
Mine makes the same kind of noise mate, but i think it's just the noise from the gearbox as my mate's rev3 turbo makes the same noise too.

Does the noise get louder when you go round corners?

I've got like a cd storage thing that bolts on to the bottom of your head unit then fits nicely in the double DIN hole, cost about a tenner from Motorworld and looks like it was made to be there!

Re: Insurance Company *!"£$
I've pretty much had it with insurance companies too, got a quote to transfer my insurance over in May for a rev 2 turbo, went to buy it about a month later and apparently the insurance company i was with stopped insuring these cars, so as i had just bought the car, i was stuck in York without insur...

Re: Newbie after a bit of advise
Interesting, you don't think it's a UK car with a turbo lump in do you? wondering what engine it had in before it was swapped.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

I'm definitely gonna go and see it and i'll ask him a lot more about it.
Seems pretty genuine tho, claims to have receipts and all, but seems cheap for what it is ![Think :-k](./images/smilies/eusa_think.gif)

Re: T-bar turbo vs tin top
well i was wondering where the hell i'm gonna put my system anyway and was planning to use the space behind the passenger seat, so if that's where the roof's stored then i guess it'll be a tin top! I liked the idea of the t-bar but then had a look at mi mates car and realised how little space there ...

Re: Newbie after a bit of advise
yeah hopefully gonna have a look on Tuesday.
It's only got 2 months MOT left on it so is there anything that mr2s are prone to fail on that i should look for?

Other than that it looks like a good buy, guess my neighbours'll have to get used to a silly exhaust again![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Newbie after a bit of advise
I'm gonna be getting an MR2 turbo soon, haven't got a lot of cash to spend, about 2.5k to be exact and i've seen this car on eBay and would like a second opinion on it. The only thing that worries me really is that it's had a new engine and the guy says it hunts on idle but other than that it doesn'...

T-bar turbo vs tin top
I'm gonna be buying a turbo soon but after speaking to a couple of turbo owners they seem to say that the t-bar's don't handle as well as the tin tops because they aren't as stiff. Is there really that much difference cos there seems to be a load of t-bars up for sale and not many tin tops and i was...
