Re: Headlight controller modification - 800x600 photo heavy

Hi Boyzdad, Bit of a thread revieval. I have bought my 10uf caps to do next week on a weeks hols. My question is, do the caps have a polarity as one leg is longer than the other. I know on LED's this makes a difference and just wondered if these were the same or can they just be put in either way r...

Re: Headlight controller modification - 800x600 photo heavy

Those manuals are © Mr T It's technically illegal to copy/host/download them and Mr T's lawyer's have been known to force sites to remove them under threat of legal action. :( Having said that if you were to contact the right person they might be able to send you a copy of a disc with all the MR2 t...

Re: Can't see

I can't see the photos :( Is this a simple R/C circuit? I'm wondering if the resisitor could be replaced with a potentiometer to give a variable time. Hello, the pics disappeared for a while, doh! They are back now ;) I am sure that a variable resistor could be used, however I did not have time, or...

Re: Tyre recommendations (standard size)?

I am running some Eagle NCT's (14'') on my MK1a wheels, the difference from the standard crud I had is like night and day. Really inspire confidence in the wet and dry :)

I think they may have discontinued them now, not too sure, but if you can get them, I cant recommed them highly enough.

Re: Headlight controller modification - 800x600 photo heavy

That's a good mod for the faster retraction time and I quite fancy doing it. I'm not clear on what the difference is between changing one cap or two. Is it that one cap does the retraction mod and two does the blink mod? Also I'm not seeing complete pictures and the one of "My take on Jimi's m...

Headlight controller modification - 800x600 photo heavy

After repairing my headlight controller, I decided to address a problem that had been bugging me about the way the controller works. When the light switch is turned off, from headlights to off, the lights seems to take ages before they go down, ok, not a major problem, but I like to mess about with ...

Re: Ebay Mk1 drawing

Hello Paul :) Jack did not draw this picture, he commissioned it from the guy on ebay for £15, it was a gift to me from Jack, he used his own money to get it ;) I agree you are entitled to your opinion. As I said I don't particularly think it is a great work of art, but there is something special ab...

Re: Ebay Mk1 drawing

As this was a present from my 15yr old son, Jack (the OP on the MK1 forum) I was very pleased that he made the effort to commission this for me personally of my own car. This has been hand drawn, and obviously, had a lot of time and effort spent on it. I don't claim it to be a work of art, but what ...

I am running F1's, the asymmetric profile (14 inch) on my car, http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Goodyear/Eagle-F1-Asymmetric.htm they are amazing both in the wet and dry. I was running budget tyres on the car before, the F1's have totally transformed the car, I have not managed to get into trouble ...

Re: Blowing manifold

My original MK1A manifold was cracked between cylinders 3-4, so this may be the problem. Just check the manifold were it joins the exhaust to be doubly sure though, my Janspeed is an absolute git as far as this goes. I have to re-do the joint every 1000-1500 miles. There is no flexi on the Janspeed ...

Re: Starting problem

Turn the heater fan on in the car before starting, when cranking, does the fan slow right down?

If not then the problem is not a bad battery, more likely a bad starter motor :(

Re: Car lacking power, using a lot of fuel

While you're down there, check the water pump and the alternator bearings. I thought my alternator was squealing, but it turns out my water pump is shot instead... I initially thought of the water pump, but as this is driven from the same belt as the alternator, and Lee reports the squeal is still ...
