[Mk2] [NA] Active system NOT switching on .... Help
Can anyone help me please? I have just installed the standard double din head unit - model number 1669 into my car but the thing is that i cannot get any sound from the speakers at all. I have checked the trigger cable (PINK) to check for continuity and that seems OK. Also, i have checked the 12v ou...

earth points ...
I would start at the earth point.
Make sure your earth is good.
Otherwise you could have an issue with ur head unit. Sometimes the head unit output capacitor becomes dry .... Faulty.

Re: acceleration problems
Hi there
The HKS unit was just put on with out any tuning. It had come of a similar car and i thought there was no need to tune the car etc.
I have NOT checked the fuel presure yet but will be doing so.
And the air filter that i have is a after market one and i also have a decat fitted too.
Thanks

hi
The engine rebuild has been done by me. But the engine has been checked by Rouge and its working fine. The HKS ECU piggy back equipment has been added only a few months back. The existing ECU was a remapped ECU that came with the car. However, i have tried a NON REMAPPED ECU and i still get the same...

The car has just had the engine rebuilt, New piston rings, new shell bearings etc. I have also installed a HKS piggy back ECU with fuel cut off defender etc. I am NOT sure what boost the engine is running - i think it may be standard. The spark plugs are not branded (i know.. lol ) they ar...

hi
This is the same thing that is happening to my car paint. Its starting in small patches and it can get worse. What i did was to remove the flaky laquer and then get some laquer and spray it on. Afterwards, you will have to blend it in with the paint work etc. You wont get a 100% unnoticeable finish ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo Boost Gauge wiring guide....
Hi Peter I wasnt aware that the Turbo Gauge required another pcb to get it working. Thought it was a simple case of adding the gauge in to the cluster and then rewiring it, using the blue/black wire and a earth source. When the car had its engine swapped, i dont think they did a FULL change of the l...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo Boost Gauge wiring guide....
Today i had a try at installing the turbo gauge in to my 3sge cluster. The problem was that the Blue wire and the black line on the 16 pin connector going to the ECU did not go to the cluster at all. So, for some reason the previous owner didnt get that wire to the cluster at all.... Anyways, The bl...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo Boost Gauge wiring guide....
I was actually thinking of taking out the 3sge cluster and then removing the voltmeter. After this i will then cut the tracks where the voltage is coming to the voltmeter and then fit the turbo gauge. After this i will find out what the polarity is on the gauge for the wires to conect to. I will tes...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo Boost Gauge wiring guide....
Hi
so does that mean that i can use that wire as a positive and use the earth as negative to make a boost gauge work ?
Obviously, i would do a trace to see how far this wire goes towards the dash.... where ever it stops i can then use an extension from there onwards....
Thanks

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo Boost Gauge wiring guide....
Hi there I have had a look at the connectors, 11, 16 & 26 pin. The image below shows the colours on the 16 pin connector that goes in to the ECU. The image is as if you were looking at the connector from the front and the wires coming in to the connector block from behind...... if that makes sen...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo Boost Gauge wiring guide....
Hi I have heard that the toyota gauge is a bit crappy but at the end of the day i just want to install the boost gauge so i can see something rather than hearing it. As for the battery gauge.... i will be making an LED gauge to show voltage and those LEDS will be inserted in either the rev dial or s...
