Re: FAO: mr2mk1chick

Here's the place I've used for the N/A and S/C alternator repairs:

C & G Auto Electrics
32 Barkbythorpe Road
Leicester LE4 9JA
0116 276 8333

you have to remove the part from the car and drop it off for repair

Re: Where to buy exhaust manifold?

the manifolds don't really deteriorate on teh cars, as they are kept pretty dry and clean etc. the usual prob is that the gaskets give way between the manifild and down pipe. rarely the gasket between the manifold and block. also as mentioned, they sometimes crack, but rare. its usual for the heatsh...

Re: 1985 Restored Red Mk1a MR2 (now with pics)

R888 for my standard 14"'s these are fab for track and road, but i don't think are redily available in 14" and have also gone up loads in price over the last year. the sidewalls are really stiff and supportive. most people upgrade to 15" alloys and get a good tyre deal as a package, ...

Re: Anyone got crumbling Yellowstuff pads? EBC say its normal?!

We used EBC yellow all round with our track car and they were great. however i think with std discs you may experience some 'glazing' of the pad. we used grooved. Also this depends on how strict you were on track with your cool-down laps etc. also i wonder if you 'cooked' them by a sticky caliper or...

no bolt hole = mk1a

Re: Droplinks

Seriously Lauren that's the worst advice ever, they are £180 a pair and will fail eventually. My £20 focus ones last just as long. £180 a pair? Really? TCB sell genuine Toyota ones for £40 each. this seems to be a resonable solution - same as 2 sets of cheapos but no welding and hopefully the relia...

Re: Bloody Motorserv employee!

Apart from the length, how can they have possibly got it wrong, as havent the studs got a 1.25 pitch? . Well woodsy has already corrected the pitch (I have no idea), but they also need the correct taper on the nut to suit the alloy. if you look at mk1 nuts they have a flat face, but many aftermarke...

True. Thanks for people's comments and advice. Re: question on imoc track days???

club days are usually defined as days where the club has hired or has the sole exclusive use of the circuit for the day. not like the days where a lot of club members get together on an open to all-comers day, despite it nearly being all club cars. anyone know how lotus-on-track days would be counte...

Re: Third Brake Light & Lower Fog Lamps

There may even ba a spare connector in the boot for the rear brake light, as the us and jap imports often had the mk1 brake light in spoiler, and wirinf was needed for this.
