can't remember where i head it last, but don't kyb's do 2 types - one pretty hard, and another very hard?
On our old set-up they were a pretty harsh ride, but with lowered springs etc.

Re: seat mountings
you can sometimes (i've heard, not seen) pick up (TRD?) ones made specifically for the AW11, but they are pretty rare and now also expensive. Most people fabricate their own. One way is to remove the runners from the old mk1 seats and weld them into the correct place on the upper part of the buckets...

Re: Removal Of Decals
Heat Gun? Just use a hairdryer - I have removed a number of decals of the years with one of these. Hairdyers don t get hot enough, if decals come off with a hairdryer, then chances are they would just peel off with your fingers anyway.. Yes they do :oldtongue: Well all our old decals on o...

I don't quite 'get' your post. Is this something you have just been to, or something that your are thinking of going to? Your post isn't than descriptive. When i clicked on it to read more about it, i'mstill in the dark. That sounded a good price etc, but on opening the post haven't a clue what your...

Re: OMP steering wheel and best size
I am surprised no one has mentioned getting some dish / moving the wheel closer. You would actually find that moving the wheel closer will have more effect on your ability to steer than the actual size of the wheel. I have a dished wheel, which is spaced right out so my arms are always at 10 to 2 (...

Re: Spongy Pedal and Poor Brakes
strange to have to hae the engine running, I've never done it that way and never had a problem. And I've worked on quite a lot of mk1's now. The engine running may just be coincidental, as they are/can be a pig to bleed - as many people have pointed out take a fair few attempts too. Glad its all so...

Re: how quick?
Ive done a 16.2 @ 85mph, you should be able to get a 16 flat on a good day. With the car fully stripped out you will get nearer 15. Got quite consistant 16.4's when the car was stock. I remember the day :thumleft: I also got a 16.2 but @ 84mph and that was also before it was stripped and in full ro...

modifications include. Lightening and ballancing. Cams, porting and flowed. Ecu re mapped, 4 branch manifold and probably some other stuff i forgot. Machanic friend of mine has suggested that it might be supposed to run like that but i am not 100% convinced. Will try some higher octane fuel shortly...

Re: how quick?
It will be different per car due to engine wear/tiredness, and performance. You also you need a heck of a lot of road to get up to that speed  Also can't do this on a public highway. I rekon most mk1s over-read on the speedo by between 5-10% We will test our mk1a with the sat nav at Spa if we...

If you are understeering at the front alter the front Geo Just out of interest what would you suggest for a road car Jo? well the obvious answer is to use toyota settings :thumleft: I don't know - as we just bodged our track car at the moment. we know its not right, but are getting round to fitting...

Re: 16s - What is your opinion...
What about 15's front and 16's rear. That works, going up a rim size at the back reduces grip so less understeer. Just fitted a 19mm rear arb myself which does the job better though. why on earth would you want to reduce the rear grip? If you are understeering at the front alter the front Geo Stick...

Re: Car popping on tick over and cutting out when hot
i take it you have an uprated engine and ecu? if so then the ignition timing may need stting differently. timing it to stnadard spec maybe wrong. how ever nearly all mr2's seem to miss slightly when free reving so i wouldn't worry about that too much. if its been worked on alot internaly then they ...
