Re: Top coat on a Mk1 anyone know what it is composed of?

I'd presume its acrylic based, as its only really old paints that aren't.
we resprayed our track car with modern paint and it didn't react badly, which suggests its a compatible compund to modern paint - hence my guess at acrylic based.

I had one too...but now its burned with the rest of the SC :( however, if you have the hole in the cover bit, most likely you will have the sensor but it may have dropped out. they only ever seemed to push into place. i found mine when removing the cover for something or other, so i held it in plac...

Re: good winter starter!

jinxy where did you get the leece lined cover and what price etc? Does it stay on in the wind? Got it from the classic car show at the NEC last month when we had a mk1 club stand there, retail price £139.99, show price £115 :thumleft: 97% waterproof, fleece lined, but fully breathable, so any water...

Re: Stainless Gear shift Gate plate for mk1s

There is a green karmeloeon with one of these plate things on the shifter. as its an SC maybe the shift is more direct, as he has kept this on for years IIRC.

Re: Leaky rad - advice please!

Yeah I'm going to replace it - I have a second-hand one coming but its still fairly new from what I can tell, and is a hell of a lot cheaper than a brand new one. I know it may seem a false economy to some, but at the mo it's all I can afford! Trouble is, I can't get it booked in til the end of the...

I know i like them very 80s but they are absolutly Mint like new so i dont want to get rid. I have seen a very nice set of black 15s that doesnt increase the overall diameter or footprint that i will probably get to go with them for shows and the like. As for engines i have decided that its going t...

IIRC the SC stay is a bit shorter than the NA's

However most of the committee were sent it for headed paper etc over a year ago, so shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of HTH (c...

I have a NOS kit on tango, and went for an electric controller from the TPS rather than a switch controler from the throttle. It has 25 jets, but the guy who i bought the kit from ran 85 jets on his NA and only blew an oil seal. Limey ran nos on his but had a prob with spark plugs or something IIRC ...
