Re: SOUTH WEST MEET...SUNDAY 30th MAY :-)

Maybe to close to the bank holiday?

Where abouts in Minch.

I live just down the hill from Hampton Fields, a place called Nags Head (between Avening & Cherington).

Thought Tinker2 (MR2OC) from Bussage way was the nearest 2.

Re: What to Look for When Buying an SW20

Rust to the sills, below the door rear shut lines. Not sure, but think this problem stems from moonroof/T bar drainage. Rust to the rear wheel arches. Rust to the rear wheel arch box sections under the boot carpet. Thought the rev1 had same engine as rev2, but MORE power (158) because of lack of cat...

Any chance of some pics of scratch repair. Also any service history?

Didn't know UK NA rev5s had LSDs?

Has all the visual clues, interior, rear, etc.
Don't think rev 1s or 2s have abs even as option, though will probably be proved wrong on this?

Bah Humbug. RUST!

Only just found (whilst cleaning) that what I thought to be a large tar blob is in fact an area of rust half way along N/S sill ) directly below the door rear shut line, which has bubbled up under the black anti-stone chipping paint (rev1). Had a closer look and poke about. Now found a rusted hole a...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] upgrade of stereo sub & amp

No point in getting OEM Toyota amps IMHO as if you're going to be installing an amp & a sub, you may as well get a decent one :thumleft: Rich I know by todays standards there only 'ok', but in the early nineties the actives were top notch. Active systems were designed/built by 'Bose'. Make OME ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] CRN 40 grooved discs and Redstuff pads arrived and fitted...

no, they are designed to wear down the surface of the brake pads faster, when braking heavy, and you start getting brake fade the heat heats up the chemical in the pads and this makes its way out of the brake pad and to the disc, the groved bit wears them down a little faster to eliminate that chem...

Had a pair of Tarox (Red Dot) a few years back (£350ish for fronts only). The destructions did say the groves should be pointing forward not backwards.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] advice found on water in driver footwell please

Had similar for about three years. Would wash MR and notice damp carpet in drivers footwell. Thought the strip seal along the bottom of the window was to blame as their always seemed to be water blobs on the sill protector. Therefore checked and cleaned door drainage holes in case water overflowing ...
