Re: carbotech users

No one has mentioned the obvious. Carbotechs might cost 3 times more than yellow stuff, but probably last 3 times longer. I like brakes and am a very heavy braker. I've used red, yellow, and XP8s on road and track. The reds were ok but wore out very quickly, the yellows felt great but only lasted ab...

Easily worth that, you might just have to wait a little. Slow market :(

Re: R888 - What tyre pressure?

The problem is you can end up spending half a day playing with temps & pressures for info that possibly is only relevent to that track in that particular weather. (It has been mentioned to me in the past to aim for 32 & 34 hot) HTH's I've done that before, and have a note book full of tempe...

Wet day? Could be moisture in the ignition system causing it to miss.

Re: MR2 Mk2 NA - As much fun as a tubby?

yeah, but N/As are slow. \:D/      According to the press, my old Rev1 would hit 60 in 6.7secs and do the 1/4 mile in 15.4 secs. The only place where you'll want more performance is on the drag strip. NAs are more than fast enough for road use. No, the only place where...

Re: MR2 Mk2 NA - As much fun as a tubby?

So we are all agreed if you can drive a bit you should get a turbo? If you are less comfortable and perhaps its your first RWD car you should get an NA? I think thats a fair summary, except i'd alter "a bit" to well. i.e. well means you wouldn't brick it if the car does slide a bit at spe...

Re: MR2 Mk2 NA - As much fun as a tubby?

I think I disagree with most of the things on here! I have a rev3 turbo track car and have been on track with other race NA's and have been much quicker than them, even though my car is 200kg heavier. The turbo isnt all about straight line speed at all, but its harder to drive fast, which makes it ...

Re: R888's > MK1 MR2

No doubt the airfield will have ripped them up, the R888's really don't cope well in that kind of situation. Get a spare set of wheels for airfield days and commuting, the R888's should offer good grip until they start to tear providing you don't overheat them. Jon http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Type/...

Your car was impressively clean Andy, I swear all that extra drag me and skin had slowed us on the straights ;)

Will have to ditch the passenger seat and consequently passenger to give Jonb a run for his money next time. Your car is lighter than mine anyway, stop making excuses ;) Funny how alternators always die after oil changes, if you miss the oil filler you end up covering it then it dies. I bought a ma...
