Re: General question about performance?

One would assume an average mr2 driver vs an average r34 driver the r34 would streak ahead, much more friendly car on the limit.

Re: Pictures of oil from headgasket gone, opinions please

Looking at the photo again it doesn't do it justice. The oil on the dipstick looked like mayo mixed with real oil, not a pretty picture.

I'll drain some out and see what happens, there's plenty of liquid in there though.

Pictures of oil from headgasket gone, opinions please

Hey, As some of you may know i'm in the process of buying a mr2 with a failed head gasket. I just had some further checks around the engine to check everything before attempting to start. This isn't new oil, it's been in about 5k, but the cars been standing for 5 months with a dead headgasket. The m...

Re: Possible MR2 as a project, head gasket gone, help please!

On closer inspection there's certianly coolant in the oil and as much as i'd like to say there was oil in the coolant, there wasn't too much left. That said, the engine bay is in pretty fine condition. I'm going to top her up with water and oil tomorrow and just give her a gentle run backwards and f...

Re: Quick question needs an answer!!

Sitting at about 80mph 250 - 300 miles per tank. Sitting at 90mph 300 - 350 per tank. chris Strange, in every other car i've owned once you tip over the 85-90mph marker MPG drops rapidly. For example, in my old MG ZR i could average 36 ar 85, i tried sitting at 90 and it'd drop to 33 or so. Same wi...

Fantastic information... now if you could do what no man has done before and explain the exact differences between torque and bhp you'll get a medal ;)

Need a MR2 checked out in North Hertfordshire

Hey, Sorry to be the annoying newbie but we all have to start somewhere :) As some of you may have read I've a MR2 project car lined up but the headgasket has gone. I was wondering if anyone in the north herts / south beds area could recommend anyone who'd be willing to come by and have a half hour ...

I assume these drop you down a bit more giving up a bit more head room (i'm 6'3 and looking at buying a sunroof GT, bit worried about me head)

Re: Possible MR2 as a project, head gasket gone, help please!

I wish i was handy with a spanner, my limit is fitting an exhaust to my bike at the moment.

Does anyone know what the fitting charge would roughly be for a gearbox? Any good mechanics known around the north herts / south beds area?

Sorry about the questions, i'll soon fall into a groove i'm sure :)

Re: rev2 vs rev3 (uk n/a's) - anyone driven/owned both?

An interesting read, thanks.

I didn't realise the rev2 was faster to 60, i thought the extra 35 bhp the rev3 had would seal that.

There's a little confusion re brakes / suspension changes between rev2 and 3, ithought the rev3 had PAS / ABS over the rev2 too?.

Re: rev2 vs rev3 (uk n/a's) - anyone driven/owned both?

This is the same question i'm pondering at the moment, a 75k rev2 or a 100k rev3 (as mainly a motorway car, much different in mpg between the 2?)

Possible MR2 as a project, head gasket gone, help please!

Hi, Not sure if this should be here or in general, i was after a bit of advice. The lady oppisite me has a K plate MR2 GT (UK sunroof model with full leather) that's been off the road for about 5 months. I popped around today to see if they wanted to sell it and low and behold, they do! It's in fant...
